New to NV but learned REAL fast how tiring trying to scan with it on the rifle. Looking to buy a digital hand held unit for scanning (not thermal due to $$.) Would appreciate any user advice on specific units that work good for you on hog/yotes. Thanks for any advice!

I have a Bushnell Equinox that has great night vision without the use of an external IR Torch as well as very nice day vision.
It does eat batteries though.

If you find yourself feeling useless, remember it took 20 years, trillions of dollars, and four presidents to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.
Sometimes the Universe puts you in the same situation again to see if you’re still a dumbass.

Not sure what your budget is, but a PVS 14 is very clear out to about 400 yds. (I think you can get them for close to $1k now). I have a Night Owl Gen I handheld that is pretty useless beyond 50 yards without a full moon.

second the bushnell, have one and it works excellent for scanning. mine does not eat batteries though, I get at least 3 maybe 4 nights worth of use out of a set but do not leave it on constant either.

Another vote for the Bushnell Equinox X. Unless your budget can afford a thermal then I would suggest taking a look at the Pulsar Quantum line.
