West wind is howling here, and the forecast says that it is supposed to keep blowing until well after dark. Just curious if anyone else is going to take a chance today?

Hopefully will get out and change the card in my camera. Doubt I will get a chance to hunt.

Storm just ended here in East Texas. Started raining last night, got real heavy this morning with strong winds just before daylight, then another wave of heavy storms all morning. It's been tapering off for awhile now, winds are calm and the temps had dropped a little into the 50's with a low expected tomorrow morning at 44 degrees. The blind is half a mile behind my house, so it's just a slow, slippery walk for me to get into it and see if anything shows up. How can I not go?

I'm in the stand and you are right about this wind. Saw a buck chasing a doe when we pulled in the gate but that's it so far.

Thanks wtr, I actually hunt in Hamilton co. But your right it seems to be on. Just had a little 8 stroll by but still not hitting the feeders.

I'm trying something a little different. I don't really have a good stand set up for the wind, so I am sitting in a tree line on a bluff overlooking a cleared pasture. I have seen lots of deer move on the west side of this pasture in the past. Hopefully it will pay off.

Nothing coming to the feeders at our place in east tx. Acorns everywhere so no need to visit feeders for corn. Had a small doe hit the winter rye yesterday afternoon, but been out here since Sunday morning and she is all we have seen. Not looking promising as I have to head back to metromess tomorrow. Good luck all.

I'm in the stand now. Got in about 4:25. Hopefully something shows. Wind is freaking whipping this afternoon. Glad I added the extra stakes to my stand before season

Any body seeing anything. Just had a 5 point walk in acting all crazy. Maybe something big is lurking in the brush

Nothing yet. But I never heard the feeder throw. Idk if the wind is too loud, or if I'm out of corn.

Well, no luck. I did however see four does as I was driving to the gate. Hopefully tomorrow morning will be better.

Saw 3 Bucks and a White fallow doe. I have a supposedly HF so there should not be a White fallow doe in here. The Bucks were looking for Does so did not hang around the feeder.

Didn't see a deer. Feeder was clogged up.
But I've got 176 photos on this card since opening day, so well see..

Went in at 3:45. At 4:15 a spike came strolling thru, never stopped, just headed for the other feeder on the place. Right at dark, just like clock work, a doe and her two littles came in.

I ran a yearling buck off corn at the blind. Sat till about 5:40 till first does came in. Deer moved really late though. I saw a total of 6 does and 4 bucks all on corn. I had what appeared to be a bit better buck push a doe in really late when I could not tell anything about it, was not sure if it was one buck that had been there or not. Dead calm and 64 degree temps. Should be clear in the morning and mid 40's.

The low lying areas here could see a frost in the morning. I took off work tomorrow to be there just in case. Even if I don't see anything, it's still gonna be better than working.

Went out at about 13:00 and stayed until dark, after nearly 24 hours of rain, and didn't see a dang thing. I figured it'd be better. Very small place in E.Tx, already 3 deer down next door, same size place. Maybe I should lower my expectations.
