I borrowed one of them high falutin' rotomolded Yetis to stuff a deer in yesterday because I temporarily misplaced my big Igloo cooler. Thought it was at home when I shot the deer, and then got home couldn't find it. Then I remembered it was in a new storage spot in an enclosed trailer at the hunting grounds after all. SMH

Call a buddy to borrow a cooler and he gives me his 125 Yeti. Fantastic. Pick up the cooler then proceed to quarter the buck when I get home last night. No problems. Covered the meat in ice until I can get the deer to the processor this morning.

Took an hour to get to my favorite processor because of a wreck. Finally I arrive. In my haste to get back to work, I try to drag the cooler out of the bed of the truck by the latch. STUPID. Yanked the damn T handle plum off. Now I have to shoot up to Cabelas and hope they have Yeti latches in stock.

Ehh, its Monday. I didn't want to get any real work done anyway.

My $50 walmart cooler works just fine for what it's intended for. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Next time you'll just drop the tailgate, throw'er in reverse & slam on the brakes.

I carry a wrist brace for times like these. Put it on before you get out of the truck. People will offer to help.

In my defense the latches are T shaped; seemed like a reasonable pull point to me. There was no warning to caution me otherwise. Those little anti-skid stops on the bottom really held the cooler in place.

$18 bucks later, buddy is gonna get new latches before he gets his clean cooler back. I'll probably slip with the screwdriver during pin removal and end up getting stitches now. That or end up with a black fingernail hammering the pins back in.

It is a rare person that does what you are doing. Most folks would return it broken. Thank you for setting a good example.

We want pics of the screwdriver sticking out of your hand. There is always blood.

Thanks for the offer, but you hang on to yours. Apparently they have a limited service life. clap

Well that depends on the defined "operational life". Mine are going on 7 years without a problem. grin

In my best Ron Serling voice:

"A man. An ordinary man. With an ordinary cooler.

But, one fateful evening, that all changed. Forced to borrow a Yeti cooler and damaging it through a series of unfortunate events, he checked the replacement price for a part he had broken. It was at that point this unfortunate man knew - he had now entered the ............ YETI ZONE."

(Cue "Twilight Zone" music)

Do do do do, do do do do.....

Maybe it was the logo on the cooler, IDK. clap Whoop(s)!

Now it's like it never even happened. Sorry to disappoint, but no loss of blood was involved in the install. grin

sorry but unless I was going offshore fishing or deep into a drop camp for a week I could never justify paying for a Yeti = it is marketing genius and if you want to spend your hard earned money on one then no problem. For me - a good old Coleman ice chest does the job and and spend the difference in $$ on something else I really need. Guess I just dont get the attraction to an ice chest

You can't fix stupid
