I don't dislike it...it's just different. And you can tell it's made very well...the sheath too.

It's the kind of knife I'd have to have in my hands to tell if I like it. I can look at it and undertand the features as a dedicated caping knife I just dont know if I'd like it. I personally cut the head of and let the taxidermist do the caping but I understand the process.

The thumb area on the blade, looks uncomfortable. Could you do a different option there?

It looks like it would be hard on a thumb. Lots of sharp edges.

Nate if I understand the concept what you call the thumb area is for the index finger. When grasped properly it's an extension of the index finger for precise work around the eyes, lips, antlers/horns, and ears. It's not designed for heavy pressure with the thumb.

It looks very functional Kev. I skin but have never tried to cape. The first pic didn't show how nice you shaped the handle.
