We just got a new lease this year in between Quitaque and Turkey (Briscoe County). Any ideas what to expect? 1 part of the lease is a crop field with cover on each end. The other has a large area of cover with a bunch of shinery. So far the hunting has been very slow (opening gun and this weekend). It almost seems that the deer are still nocturnal when looking at the game camera pictures. We have several good bucks on camera but so far on hunts during shooting light we have either been skunked or just a few doe. Any information about this area would be appreciated.

I hunted just north of there on an invite. We drove mostly. Mule deer is what the ranch had, very few whitetails. I'd setup close to the ag field. Try some rattling too.

Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.
Don't text and drive.

We are just South East of the Caprock. Plenty of whitetail on camera but they are just not coming out during the day. We have seen several Mule deer driving to and from the property and a few in the shinery.

I hunted out there for many years, but haven't in almost 15 years. Place I hunted didn't have any whitetail a, but had great mule deer, big aoudad, and more hogs and turkeys than I've seen anywhere else.

All our hunting was for mulies and aoudads and it was all spot and stalk. Tended to hunt over the cotton fields and water holes for the best luck.
