Live from my couch....

Last weekend of soccer for my daughter and feel like I shouldn't miss it. Regardless, woke up at 4 ready to head to the deer stand. Likely go tomorrow.

Sure would like to hear of any chasing reports in north Texas. Based on what I saw last weekend I figure this weekend should be pretty active.

5 deer 1 day. In the ditch and road. This is from houston. So it has to be good up there.

Hunting in magnolia would be better in a gated community.

KennyLee, very little deer movement yesterday out in Young county. I'd figure the same, things look to pick up considerably the next 2-2.5 weeks..

SW part of Wise was good. Lots of deer moving and chasing. Saw all my deer under oak trees eating acorns.

Slow again in Murray. 4th sit yet to see a deer. Cams full of deer at night. Sandhills are keeping me entertained. Killer sunrise this morning.

Clay county is slow this am as well. Heard no shots (that's not uncommon) and have seen no deer, and aside from birds there's been no sign of life at all.

Think all the bucks are locked down on doe right now? Figured there would be some still cruising.

Up in Archer. Saw a good 9 cruise by my feeder looking for a doe. May regret not shooting him. Only deer all morning and it was early.

In Northern Wise County:
I seen a small 4 pt chasing a doe yesterday afternoon.
I seen a young 6 pt come in this morning. He got on the trail where a doe had been earlier. He went nose to the ground and started grunting. He was still nose to ground and tail straight out when he went out of sight. It's on for the little guy but I am not sure about the big ones.

Tuesday, I watched a 2.5 yo 8, he came in looking around and spent to much time in the oats and wheat to be a full rut. Of course, every time the sun comes up, it is a new day in the woods. I heard a little shooting on opening morning, maybe 5 that where for sure hunters as it was early, but more target sounding shooting from then on.

Corn has not been a very good draw, but protein is working some. My fertilized food plots are getting hammered though up

Yesterday i saw three bucks chasing hard. One small trash buck and two mature bucks. I killed the biggest of the two. Its a nice deer for at the house but the deer i saw this morning was larger.

Let me tell you that buck smelled horrible all rutted up.

Chasing in both Denton and Parker. Bucks are responding to rattling at both my spots. Buddy was at my Denton prop this am and rattled in two young eights. Another was chasing does hard. Get out there tomorrow if you can!

Maybe the other one is close enough to me, to get a look see. Had a few decent on TC late summer.

Thanks for the updates. I'm gonna sit all day tomorrow depending on the weather.

Jealous of you guys out there today.

Congrats Leonardo, hoping I put one down relatively soon. More covered in hogs than I've ever been.
