ordered 6bxs of bullets, shipped fairly quickly, but the packing was so poorly done, two bxs had opened, the shipping box was 16x6x6 for the box of six, packing was the stupid pillow things. was a pain, they did refund my shipping, must have a moron in shipping dept.

That's unfortunate colt. I have never had a bad experience with their shipping but they have always taken care of any other problems I might have had. Glad they took care of you.

Unfortunate, but I'd be happy if they refunded shipping.

I'm sure it's a combination of being a very busy time of year (start of the season in a lot of places and gift-giving season) and packing up shipments not bringing in the cream of the crop for job candidates.

This. I've seen this a lot lately, and from them at least once. Somebody sent me a bigger box than yours for an even smaller item the other day; it included about 12 pillows. I didn't order shipping supplies!

Plus their shipping is slow and expensive (when it's not free). But they usually have what I want/need.

The 'moron' is their new 'automated' order picking/packing line they just spent a bajillion dollars building.
Nobody even touches (nor is a single brain-cell utilized) in packing the contents of the box. welcome to the 21'st century!

Well, bullets are very small and heavy and can easily tear up boxes. Trust me, I know! You do have to pack them tight where they can not rattle around or else they will damage the box.

I'd blame the shipping company more than Midway. UPS and FedEx are terrible package handlers.
I just hade two 50 pound boxes delivered a few weeks ago, and they wasn't much left of either box when it was delivered to my house. Just some scrap cardboard wrapped with a couple rolls of tape.
I took pictures and made UPS refund the shipping cost.

Same happened to me from midway. I ordered 2 boxes of the Berger vlds and upon opening the package, one of the boxes had the sticker/box sealer ripped open and I had 100 little bullets floating around inside. Same packaging as you described with a few of the pillow thingys.

That is the shippers fault, not UPS. I get packages all of the time that weigh up to 70 pounds. The companies that care about their products package correctly. the others wait for UPS to pay damages. I keep my list of suppliers based on prices and how well they ship my order. Sometimes I would rather pay a little extra than wait for replacement orders.

Their shipping is pricey but slow? I can place an order at 5:30 and it'll go out same day. Brownells will take a couple of days sitting on their [censored], but customer service there is good.

Slow as in slow to arrive. I've ordered from Ebay, Amazon, and Midway all on the same day before, and the Ebay and Amazon orders get here in 2-4 days; Midway stuff has taken as long as 8 and usually isn't under 5.

Amazon has distribution centers all over the country. If I order while at home it usually comes out of Dallas, if I order while in New Mexico it comes from either Phoenix or Albuquerque. Midway, it comes from Missouri, eBay comes from all over hells half acre. There can be no real comparison of the 3.

I like Midway but if your not in a major metro area the shipping is pathetic. Between the UPS and then the USPS we're lucky to be able to track where and when. USPS doesn't update till way after it been delivered.

I disagree. They are using the cheapest possible shipping for them and not passing that on to the customer. I have had packages from other vendors make it across the country in 3 days, from Illinois, New York, California, etc. and been charged the same rates.

Midway USA stood behind a game camera I had purchased from them even after the warranty had expired. They made it right and I will purchase from them next time I need something. Good company, unlike most you deal with now.

I like dealing with them. And they dropped their shipping prices recently. Now some of their selling prices could use some dropping . . . 2cents

I bet I've placed over 100 orders from Midway in the last five years. One time there was a problem. A tub of Unique case lube had turned over inside the box, during the summer. That tub was full of wax that leaked all over everything and was half full. I called, then sent another tub immediately. Once I ordered a Vortex anti-cant level, tried it, didn't like it, and called. They said send it back and we will refund your card or your account, you pick.

I order with the attitude that lack of preparation on my part does not constitute an emergency on theirs. It'll arrive three days after I order it.

Excellent company to deal with.

how does lack of preparation on buyer have anything to do with how they package shipments?????

Nothing. That is on them. When they mess up, they tend to make it right, though.

I was speaking more to the amount of time it takes for an order to arrive at my house.
