Anyone hunt in Bee County? Just wondering how it's looking. I haven't been out to our place since dove season.

Live Oak County, about 20 miles SE of Beeville. Very green and very few deer seen at feeders, although the overall quality of bucks seen opening weekend was about as good as its been since 2010 or before.
Its going to be slow as long as its hot and green.

We've had our feeders throwing corn, but I was afraid they wouldn't be hitting them. I've got some trails picked out in the woods that I plan on hunting when I get down there.

I'm right on the Karnes/Bee county line and I've got a good group of does and fawns coming to two feeders but my other three aren't seeing any action at all. The one mature buck I've seen is good size and I've seen three other immature ones.

Its going to be slow as long as its hot and green. I concur, although we didn't see many bucks at all. Very slow. Good news is we know they are out there. Should be a really good year in our part of the hunting world.

Should be a really good year in our part of the hunting world. I hope you're right. Last year I took the best buck I've ever taken in December. Saw him three times in one sit while he was running does. They finally made their way to the feeder and he followed to a spot where I could get a shot. The one thing I've learned in my area down here, is it pays to be patient. Just don't know how patient we'll have to be this year. I've never seen it so green.

What I have herd all over south texas and seen on our place is its slow! Our camera pictures have been a bust all season, surveys were all but a failure. We were happy to sit opening weekend to see that all our technology was wrong and there were in fact still deer residing on our property.
It's hell eatin em live

There are plenty there. The fun thing about a green year like this in the big brush country is that you see a ton of new bucks later in the season when its more enjoyable and there is more time to hunt, that you don't early on when they don't need corn.

I grew up in northern Bee County and it was very dry after June till October. Now it is very green. Had 4.5" rain 2 weeks ago and 3.30" over the weekend. The bucks were moving 2 weeks ago before the rains pretty good, I saw 3 dead bucks on an 8 mile stretch of Highway in NW Bee and NW Goliad County. I had been seeing bucks at night when driving also. On my place in Northern Live Oak County is was very dry also from late June till 2 weeks ago. Had 5.45" two weeks ago and have not been to check gauges yet since the weekend rains. Still seeing same bucks at corn feeders there. Here in Western Goliad with the recent rains and all the green up, the deer are not moving at all. I had one TC that was taking 120-140 pics every 24 hrs that took only 4 pics(not one deer) two night ago now. The deer are just not having to move much at all, they have water in all the low areas along with tons of new growth. What part of Bee County you hunting in?

Hey fellas been awhile since I've been on the forum, also HAPPY VETRANS DAY TO ANY FELLOW VETS!! Well it's been an amazing year I was blessed with being able to purchase a small piece of south Texas heaven here in my hometown of beeville, my land is in the mineral area well the day I closed on the property I threw out about 100lbs of corn and had deer on cam that week place has not been hunted in over 15yrs, it's a work in progress but I have some nice mature 8's that are regulars and just this week a 140 class 11pt made his appearance on one of my cameras,my place is surrounded by big ranches all low fenced so I'm anxious to see what else shows up when the rut comes around as of right now the 11pt is on my hit list the 8's will get a pass to mature if they do not get taken out by another hunter but that's the chance you take ,the deer have been hitting my feeders pretty regularly and it's real green!!! Will post pics

I have a place about a mile and a half NW of Beeville. I have had feeders out for 6 months lots of does only one buck so for.Last year lots of bucks I believe with all the green grass there not hitting the feeders should pick up with colder weather. Hogs come and go we do a heli hunt in Feb. to try and thin them out.
