The exciting hunts from Saturday, two of them came so quickly I forgot to turn on the video output on the scope. Friday night was a bust as the local poachers were out and they crossed through the patch of woods seen beyond the pig. They were on my buds place, the place I hunt. Rain was off and on and GW was busy with rescue missions from the flooding so he wasn't even called this time. The poachers ran two pigs and a string of nine deer out of the woods into the pasture but the pigs were on the move. We saw more later in the night but none came our direction. We cut off the poachers legs so to speak Sat morning and I can't go into detail on that. They'll be back but they'll be limping for a while.
Back to pigs, Sat morning early mi amigo spotted a few in a draw from the compound and we put on a stalk and had one DRT and one dragged itself into the brush which is now a swamp. No recovery on that one. Sat eve we split up, another bud visiting we put in #3 stand with X-Sight, myself in #1 w/thermal. First pigs a herd of four, arrived aprox an hour before sunset. I wasn't ready and they were on the move trotting across from left to right at 60 yards. Got the scope on and hit one, it went down, hit a second it went down. Both drug themselves to the brush which is a swamp now and buzzards this morning were glad for it. Texted my bud in number three, pigs on the way and a few minutes later he missed one of em. Around 7:45 PM
the one in the vid appeared and went down DRT. Bud texted the X-Sight was dead so we went in and called it a night. I woulda remained until late otherwise as it very piggy out Sat night.

Nothing exciting here, just a hog going down.

The hog from the vid, no exit but blood oozing from the exit side ear.

Good stuff

Fast paced gregarious society forgets the healing power of solitude. It's worked thousands of years. Casting a line/gazing into a campfire/sitting in a blind after a long week is medicine for the soul. The serenity and peacefulness of it all is majestic.

6.8 SPC / 110 gr Soft point if I'm not mistaken.
My son hand loaded some rounds a few years ago
and there's still a pile of these a baggie I'm using.
One day I'll open the ones he put in boxes with the
projectile and loading info. All I know is so far,
his ammo this is very accurate and effective on pigs and
coons.
