Hey guys,

I'm looking to purchase a couple of two man metal or fiberglass deer stands. One needs to be on the ground while the other will need to have a 4-5 foot tower. I looked recently at a couple of feed stores in central Texas and was shocked to find out that these run anywhere from $2000-$3000. eeks333

Is this the norm? Does anyone have any suggestions for the same type of stands around the $1,500 range or less?

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Thanks and shoot straight!

that could be the going rate.. but I think fiberglass is overpriced... I think the material is cheap, its the process and mold that drives the cost. any way.. I think there is a store nearby me that sells these for 1500, they seem pretty nice. I can try to get info tomorrow.. this is located near San Antonio.

There are some metal blinds for a pretty reasonable price. They are relatively simple, but have seen them for around $1k or a little less. Been awhile since I have looked but think Monarch's are around that price.

The prices are sky high now it seems. We have built ours in the past few years. A Monarch 12 foot 4x6 tower was less than $800 10 years ago is more than double that now. Which is no insulation or carpet on walls. You can build a nice one for less than $1,000 but need a platform which will add to that. If you build one, start end of season or seems you will never get it done or will be 100 degrees when doing it. We actually spent 7 hours putting one up Sunday since been rained out last few weeks. Not ideal but got rid of the wasp infested wood one that was there. Talking hundreds and hundreds of wasps. Rhino lining and wood don't mix btw.

Still Monarch is best price for basic blind that will last. Just needs some improvements you can do. Add foam board and carpet inside. You can setup with two guys, long board, rope and truck. http://www.deerfeedertx.com

Check out the "Little Buck" blinds made by MB Ranch King. They seal up tight and are a good value. Might be a little small for two adults, but worth a look.

A standard size Pot-Belly Deer Blind will hunt two comfortably. If you go to the manufacture in Eldorado, TX you can get a better price.

They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason! nidea
