So I ordered some Leica Geovid HD-R 10x 42 from SWFA (still pending, since they haven't shipped out yet.) I was going to order from cabelas but as we all know when SWFA says they will beat anyone's price they don't lie! Anyways I ordered back on Nov 3 and unfortunately received an email a few hours later saying that my product was on backorder. So I thought no big deal as I called SWFA and they told me unfortunately they are backordered and we will get them shipped out asap once we get them. So today I call them and they tell me that according to my order number that I should have already received them. I told her well obviously I have not received them or I would not be calling wondering where they were. The lady j spoke to told me that sometimes the shipping gets a little behind from them or the manufacturer. She also told me if I was unhappy I could cancel my order anytime. I told her I'm not unhappy but just frustrated because of the situation. Has any one else had any back order issues with them? I feel that they may just be trying to keep my waiting hoping I will cancel because I got one heck of a deal with their price match on this set of binoculars.

Sounds like swfa. Quick to take your money but slow to get you a product.
Supposedly they will have a site with real time inventory tracking soon, but that doesn't help you.
Ask for a shipping confirmation number. Also have them check where they sent it to

I'm still not sure how they don't have a live inventory of what is in their warehouse in this day in age. It seems like they are way behind the curve when it comes to inventory tracking and on hand product. As they list things for sale on their website which they do not have on hand on a consistent basis.

Drop shipping from the MFG has kind of become the nature of the beast.
Order some stuff from Cabela's and it came direct from MFG

I've had a couple good experiences with them and they are eager to help, if you call. However, it's stories like these that keep me giving Cameralandny the first shot.

When somewhere tells me it should have been delivered already or has shipped, I request a tracking number.

I got stiffed the first (and only) time I ordered from them. But it's becoming the norm, apparently, as more go to MFG shipping. I've had great luck with OpticsPlanet yet many here have had bad experiences. Midway usually treats me right but shipping is high and slow. Camera Land may be the best of the bunch.

I had a not so great experience with Cameraland. I ordered a Vortex that they had on closeout price. I got the ruaround for the first 3 weeks, then was told that the model was backordered from the mfg. and would be 30~45 days before delivery. Fortunately I was not in a hurry , My total wait time was 3 mo. They did offer me a refund if I was unwilling to wait. Strange thing is my buddy ordered the same scope the day AFTER I ordered mine. He had his scope in 4 days??? I would order from them again but I would only order a stocked or guaranteed delivery item.

Swfa has always taken great care of me! Never had any issues with em and customer service is top notch! I had issues with optic planet and cameraland and will only deal with swfa from now on!

Man you ordered a fine product! I've owned a Leica 10x42 (not the range finders) for 15 years and never looked back. I paid $830 at the time and that was a lot of cash back then.
