Dont feel bad. I encountered about 30 yellow jackets in the blind huddled in the corner. Went back to camp for spray. Thought i killed them all.
Then while sitting in the dark a rogue wasp nailed me between
The shoulder blades. Good luck. Raining in old dime box

We had about 50 or more yellow jackets in my dads stand this morning. We got there at 5am and began spraying. It's hard to get in the stand and spray them with nowhere to run and being 12 feet off the ground

Waking in I smacked the barrel of my new Savage against a guide wire cable of my blind
Had it cross slung over my shoulder to walk with out having to hold it because it was slippery

Hate that

That's the worst one right there!Bad crap happens. It could be worse. Had a uncle one time drove from sulphur springs all the way to Putnam. Close to Abilene. Forgot his gun at home! Lol. He stayed for 4 days and just watched the deer. Lol

Well, spent all afternoon sitting in the stand killing spiders! Those black, furry jumping spiders, they were everywhere. The ones that can see you coming for them and run away. I hate spiders!

Life is full of lessons to be learn! as time goes we remember those times, and hopefully
not to repeat them! carefull thought and planning goes a long way.

My case was, back in early 90's had wasps in the blind, i jumped from about 7' off the ground,
broke my fracture my right leg, and now that was a mess, trying to crawl back to truck, pack
gear, a nd drive back home to the wife. Just little memories you keep the rest of your life,
again, learning lessons!

Now all wasps die!

hunt safe.....

I sat in blinds with yellow jackets all over them all weekend. If its not 100 degrees if you don't bother them they tend to do the same.

Wasps! I would sneak in after dark the Friday before opening day. Quietly open the door and pull the pin on two foggers. Saturday morning, I would sweep them out. The fogging would last until the cold weather arrived.

It seems like deer would be able to smell the spray further away and for much longer than people would and that it would keep them away. Is that a concern, or am I being overly paranoid?

Didn't see a thing Sat am...raining and windy...Sat eve hunt soon as I got I the blind I started feeling bad.feel asleep and woke up right at dark. Stumbled into my camper took my temp and had a 102 fever. Went to sleep and woke up to a gunshot at 7am next morning...felt like a new man. Found my brother in law with a fallow doe. Man what a shitty opening. Rest of the weekend was awesome though. Never did see anything...
