Saturday we spotted 7 deer, Sunday I saw 3 before I shot the one I got. We are seeing plenty of deer out there but not a lot of activity around the feeder. Should I stop the feeder from going off or lower the settings? The corn is just piling up underneath of it.

might turn it down a bit until they start coming into it more regularly.

With the acorns dropping, it will be awhile before they hit the feeders with any regularity. We have the same issue on our place.

Ok, I will try lowering it. I dont think I want to stop it completely because I still want them to know its there and going off.

I'd do like PMK said and turn it down till we get a frost.

I agree. Only throw as much as you notice disappearing

Check your feeder when the sun goes down. If there is uneaten corn on the ground you are spinning too much. When they do find it they will be feeding at night which you do not want. I keep backing mine off until I see no corn on the ground at sunset.

Only feed what they will eat during the day, otherwise you are supplying a night time buffet.

as above, slow the rate down. We set ours to go off a couple times in the morning. Once as soon as it light enough to see good and then about an hour later. This weekend, I got to different sets of deer stopping by.

Those are all good in theory but if you are only spinning for 4 to 5 seconds like we do, it is not much. They will eventually hit it later on in the season. I don't adjust it one 8 feeders once season starts typically. If they want to eat at night, it is their choice until stuff starts to die. We went from no rainfall to record so doubt making adjustments in the season matters unless you have a pile under it.
