Im taking half a day off on Friday to HOPEFULLY beat some of the traffic heading out West. Little over 4 hour drive usually. But if you're talking about heading to the deer stand. Ill be sitting about 30 min before daylight.

I leave tomorrow as soon as I can. I want to get settled in and maybe even get in a last bow hunt before the long guns come out.
I will be in the stand an hour before sunrise.

Around 1pm if everything goes as planned. At the lease by 3-3:30. Have to do a quick repair on one of the feeders ASAP.

heading to the lease early afternoon tomorrow, will sit my stand tomorrow afternoon/evening to see what kind of activity there is, based on my game cams, likely to shoot a hog or 5. Saturday morning, sunrise is 6:53, so I will likely be in the stand before 6:00, maybe 5:30ish.

9-10 in the morning. Hope to confirm access to my stands with all the rain we've been having, camp set up, a fire going, and a beer open by dark. Of course that's contingent on the wife. She's the hunter so she will probably be ready to go.

I'm headed out at 9:00 on Friday. I will set up the camper, then spend the evening on the stand to see what might be hitting the feeders before dark.

Up at 5am tomorrow. Load even more stuff. Hopefully pull out no later than 7am. The wife made enough axis chili for a platoon.

Keeping the grandkids this evening. Little girl, 7mos., is sick. Man, I hope it's not pink-eye, but both eyes are crusty. I rocked her to sleep and rubbed my eye. Jumped in the shower after laying her down. Pink eye at the lease would not be bueno. Oh well, the little ones come first.

As soon as I get out of dialysis at 3:15. Unfortunately we won't get out there until 9:30 or so and I'll have to fix one of my feeders in the dark and possible rain.

The ritual for me is to leave around 0800, get to the lease around 1030 on Friday. Quick walk in to feeders/cameras before noon to make sure all is still good. Wasp spray in blinds. Back at camp by 1300. Marinate steaks or chicken. Cut firewood behind camp. Prep all gear for the morning, sharpen knives, coffee maker ready to go, etc.. Then relax from 1500, eat, have a few beers with my buddies, and hit the sack for an 0500 wake up. Always enjoy the day before rifle opener. Very fun and relaxing.

I'm here. Spent the last week clearing lanes, filling feeders, caulking and painting stands. We are ready to roll.

Around lunchtime tomorrow. Need to smoke a pork butt for Sat dinner. Don't plan to do any real work since most is done.
