It would work great except for the fact that I'm not picking that trap up with that thing still breathing!

there is no bait in these particular traps, they are placed along a wall where they crawl. i feel like they want to get in the cover i have over it because its dark i have another trap that has a compartment that has a live rat in it, but haven't gotten back to check it yet

Excellent idea. I will be putting these at the lease. Would baiting it for mice work? We have a ton of mice. Maybe if a live mouse finds his way in then a snake would be right behind it?

I've never seen a screen one but have seen several people catch them in buckets or pipe in the same fashion.

Tie some braided fishing line to it so that you can drag it away from the house before you put the dynamite on it.

Make it yourself you need hail screen, rabbit cage clip pliers and clips. http://www.amazon.com/Little-Giant-Outdoor-Living-466154/dp/B000FK03HK

Check your local feed stores, they probably have the supplies and it will cheaper.
