I'm heading out in the morning for deer camp. Started getting my stuff together last night and deciding on what guns to take. Narrowed it down to 5 rifles and 2 pistols. Remington 700 in 223, 300BO, and 6.5 CM, 308AR, AR-15 with 300BO and 223 uppers, my carry pistol and a 22 pistol. How many guns do y'all take with you to camp.

I usually only take one & usually a .270. If I have a problem or break down there is a spare rifle already at camp. And of course, I can always shoot a deer the next weekend if necessary. smile

Don't feel bad, I have 3 ready to go in the case - 308, 7-08, 7MM RUM, will take AR Suppressed SBR, 22 suppressed pistol and 10-22 and carry gun - 9MM.

My wife asks if I'm going to war, and my response is "better to be prepared". A few years back, I made it all the way to camp 2 1/2 hours away and realized I left my rifle's bolt in the safe. That was my only rifle I took with me. After that experience I always take a backup.

Usually one, a 30-06...may take a 243 just to be on the safe side.

Usually just my 30-06 and 9mm. I keep hoping that one day a hog will walk close enough to my stand to use my 9mm on it.

If I think my wife is going to hunt, her 22-250 and her .380 will accompany us.

Less is more. I know guys who can't help but load the entire truck when they go hunting, so much extra effort and junk in your way.

I'm gonna carry the daughters single-six with ratshot in it on my hip...cause I am. These blinds on this new lease are mostly ground blinds, and the opposite of "tight".

If you stop somewhere to eat, etc., make sure you don't have all kinds of hunting/shooting stickers on your truck. It just means "weapons cache here" to a smash-and-grab thug/meth head.

I end up taking AR 15, 30-06, 243, and a 12 gauge, but I hunt about 15 minuets from the Mexican boarder(south of ozona down pandale road.) never know if I will ever be in a gun fight.

I don't stop when I'm riding solo. When the wife and kiddo are riding with me I gotta go to Buc-ees, stop for kolaches, pee breaks, etc. I point it West and set the cruise control.

That makes sense, never know when a side arm will come in handy, I'd just have a hard time carrying 3-4 rifles to the stand LOL

Take my old trusty Rem 270 for deer, 17HMR for coyotes and others critters and 410 shotgun. If I want to chase some quail around.

Never know what opportunities might present themselves!

Take along 223 AR, 243, 270 or 308, 12 ga, 45 side arm. Carry one rifle and side arm. Used to take one rifle, trip and fell down knock scope off, learn to take backup.

WOW....I guess you have to play with your toys at some point. Sounds like some of you have shootout fantasies with getting into some gun fight or something out here in the "Wild West".... hammer

I take one rifle that I intend to use, and another as a backup. All the others stay in the safe. No way I'm leaving anything more than what I need outside my safe.

While I always take ammo as well, I have backup boxes in my trailer for those times when I, or a friend, should forget to bring it.

If you are transporting that many firearms in your vehicle, I would strongly suggest you never take your eyes off it. Too many sad songs played around these forums from those who have lost firearms to thieves. Just like prostitutes working a truck stop, I can assure you there will be thieves out there this weekend looking for opportunities.

Well, on some ranches along the "reever"...but still, you'd be up against full-auto.

I take my 7-08 for the deer, my 9mm on my hip, my AR because I'm in South Texas, and my 12 gauge for dove and Quail if we get bored.

If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

I usually take a bolt action for deer hunting, either an AR10/15 for pigs, and my 44 magnum revolver for 50 yard and under shots.

I get bored taking the same rifle to the stand every hunt. I'll be at the ranch for 10 days and we have a variety of animals. I usually will take a suppressed Blackout with subs and a full power rifle to the stand along with the supressed 22 pistol.
