North Navarro county, about 2 miles down river from where the train derailed.Cull buck, AR buck, or piggie, whatever shows up will not walk away! Lease went up 25%, and they told us in Sept. SO... if it's a clear shot, I'm taking it!

I'll be asleep because I'm not going until after the weekend. Let all the neighbors get there chance. Then come Wednesday I'll be at the ranch until sunday. Middle of the week always seems to be better

If it's raining with little chance of stopping anytime soon, I'll be cutting Z's in my trailer. If not, I'll either be watching a food plot or feeder in hopes of taking a doe for the landowner.

In Huntsville, AL, mourning that this will be the first opening weekend I've missed in 34 years. So there better be lots of stories and pics next Monday, so I can live vicariously through you guys.

coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.

I don't get opening days anymore, I get something more important. Time with my little girl!

Hunting in magnolia would be better in a gated community.

Baseball prospect camp with my son. I don't hunt opening weekends where I am at and haven't in years. Generally wait till the second week and the weather as I will stay a week at a time to hunt. The up on a Friday after work and back on a Sunday at noon do not appeal to me anymore.

How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

My daughter turns 12 on Saturday. We have this problem every few years. She is having her party with her friends Friday night, we are going to the carnival in town early Saturday afternoon, and Daddy is kissing her on the head about 7:30 Saturday evening and headed east to wake up in the deer woods Sunday morning.

Thanks!!
Matt

Northwest San Saba County.
On Friday evening in my tree stand for the last day of archery season.
Saturday morning, in the camper looking after our two boys (14 months and 3.5 years) while momma sits in the blind with her rifle.

After a hard week recovering flood issues we will spend the next couple of days getting ready for our Vetrans Day Parade here in San Marcos and working it on Saturday. Hopefully rains will let up and I can get up to the farm later the next week...Ready for a little R&R..........
