 Daughters Youth weekend success long read

How to put this in words??? I am one very proud man, the good lord had as many lessons for me on this trip as he did for her. This hunt started last fall when she shot her first duck and was on me to let her deer hunt, believe me i wanted to, but she wasn't ready so we pushed it a yr. we started shooting 2-3x a month in june, BUY a caldwell field pod big help with young uns! I felt if she could put a consistent 2-3" group together that would be good enough for me. She proved herself in range so now it was up to deer to present her a shot. Sat morning we got in stand got pod set up, gun placed, glasses, ear phones, etc out and ready and waited for sun to rise. Was no time when a very nice 9 came in, ( this was the target deer from trail cam pics) we went through our sequence and the fever had a hold of her haha after several minutes we couldn't get settled down enough to take shot deer fed off. Repeat with next 2 shooter bucks and that pretty well finished our morning off. We had pep talk she was nervous i explained to her so was i and that was normal but i promised her in afternoon hunt she would not miss!! And then said a quick prayer ha, he was first one to show in evening it took us about 5-7 min to get calm, we went through our sequence again about 116th time that day she said she was on him i gave her the ok and the gun went off----- deer went down !!! She started cheering we both went nuts, high shoulder 75 yrds 300 blkout 130 gr barnes tpx dead dead dead. The rest is hugs and pictures great day great lessons great memory. She turned 6 a week ago!
