Well our tags were furnished over the counter tags. If you can find a land owner who has tags they are charging about $1500.00, otherwise you get over the counter tags but you still have to get land owner permition at about the same price. We had some hunt the Rita Blanka grasslands which should be free. Texas parks and wildlife has a drawn Pronghorn hunt each year at Rita Blanka as well. Depending on the county you may have to go to a check point. I thought it went well.
Thank You Robert

The experimental tags are free and only good in 3 areas. In those areas you will still have to get landowner permission (trespass fee).
This past season was the last year of the original 3 year experiment. From talking to the game wardens at the checkpoint this year they are going to extend it another year.
I was able to take a 74" buck on the first afternoon and we had the guy I was hunting with tagged out by 8am the next morning. His buck was a few inches smaller.

My hunt with trespass fee, gas, hotel, and even including taxidermy cost me less than $2500.
I gained access through someone that had paid for the hunting rights. I think next year I'll try to get the access myself and save a couple hundred bucks.
