I recently got back into hunting and figured, why not get out a week early since its still bow season. It has been about 5 years since I had a bear truth 2 and loved it. I never got a kill, but hopefully that will soon change. So I went to my local shop and they had what appeared to be a great deal. It is a bowtech assassin 60-70lbs set at 29" draw. Someone had it all set up and on layaway for two years and never responded, so they put it back kn the shelf. Since it never left the shop, its "brand new". Came with 5 easton axis 340 carbon arrows, standard quiver, peep sight, stabilizer, and a QAD drop away rest. I took it in the range and without adjusting anything was hitting 3-4" groups at 20 yards (only shot a few times at the shop to see how it felt). Granted its a two year old model, but its brand new, and for $500 I think it was a pretty damn good deal especially with the QAD rest. What do you think? One thing im not sure on is the arrows have feather type fletchings. They arent plasic vanes, but are synthetic so dont lay down when flat. I know they should be more stable, and sacrafice a little speed. Does anyone else hunt with those? Im guessing they would also drift more in any wind. Anyways...I am just stoked and cant wait to get out there. If you got this far, thanks for listening to me ramble!

Looks like a nice setup and a good deal. Can't help on the fletchings, I use 2" vanes.

I have this exact bow and it still shoots lights out. Draw is 29 1/2 with 65 lb pull. My bow loves the Carbon Express Blue Maximas in 350s. Great buy!

Assassin by Bowtech is one of the best back wall comfort bows I have ever test shot. You can't even find a second hand Assassin in my area in Vermont. Very forgiving to shoot, nice and light to hold and carry, and yeah I think with a QAD and that it never left the shop, $500 is a fair price. The more you shoot that bow the more you'll fall in love with it. I have owned Bowtech for 12+ years and I just bought an in the box Mathews Creed XS. I love this bow. It fits me well and is nice and light as well. Very accurate and a comfortable back wall. I compared the Creed XS to Bowtech Prodigy, Bowtech Carbon Knight, Mathews Z2, and this years Elite. I chose the Creed XS out of all of them. But if I could have found an Assassin, I would have really had to debate which one to get. You will be happy with the Assassin for many years to come. Good hunting to you this season!
