This is going to be my first season with a mojo Gadwall & a mojo teal. I've read/watched all the interwebs & You Tube stuff and am planning to place the mojos to either side of our blind. Since I haven't really hunted over them before when people say "mojos flair birds" on some days or later in the season dumb question do you pull the mojos right away? Move them farther out? I know its not exact by any means and birds will do what they want if you're not on the X but trying to get my head around it so I have a plan. I don't have remotes or anything like that just the mojos and a dream of easy limits and fall in your lap retrieves...

The best MOJO is the one you forget at the house...

Just kidding, I've never gave them a real chance so idk.

They work much better in a field than over water. I run mine the whole hunt for the first week of the season. After that I run them until sunrise and then pull them or at least turn them off.

You are much better off running a jerk string all the time.

Good to know - most of our hunting is over small tanks so that's good info re land vs water. Maybe I'll run one a few hundred yards behind the tank in our deer food plot? confused2

Lol. Use the MOJO early and the moment you notice birds are not working or flaring pull it. You could put it (or a dove mojo) behind you on land 20 yards or so away to catch their attention. When they were talking about mojos working in fields, they meant on field hunts for ducks like they do up north when birds are feeding in agricultural fields.

Spend the money for the remote. I run a mojo all season over small water and rarely have issues flaring birds.

Mojo's work well, the key is the habitat and species you're hunting. Big water, marsh, flooded timber and ag, coast, they def pull birds. but I've seen exceptions to the rule, On water, geese and sprigs typically avoid them like the plague though I've had both drop in a spread on occasion. Misfits, confused, non-conformist, retarded, young and stupid, whatever, they won't make the same mistake twice.

It really depends. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

Last year it was all greenwings, gadwall, ringers & pintails but I didn't hunt as much early season. Maybe I'll mount one on each end of the canoe as well when we are on the river. up

I saw a guy with mojos running in his rod holders on his boat once while hunting. I forgot to ask him how that worked out when I saw him later at the ramp.

I was going to do that.

I thought that's what those spud pole holes on the boat were for.

I was hoping so. I just need to make a catch so the poles don't slip all the way through.

I do have some seat bases also. I could have a pretty good sized flock. banana2

Foosh, that would mean you would have to actually take that pretty boat of yours out on a hunt. It could get dirty, you sure you want to chance it?

Mallards and teal like mojos. All the other ducks not so much, except at first light helps with all ducks. Mallards love the mojo, the big mojos, set them up like they are landing into the pocket of your spread, mallards drop in right behind the mojo like it is the lead duck.

Early teal season I use dove mojo. Regular season, I use big mallard mojo, and only if I'm after mallards, otherwise I do not mess with a mojo. Many years ago I was scouting, saw these guys hunting and thought I would just watched. They hammered the mallards with mojos, this was very close to the end of the season, I learned that end of season does not matter.

Place the Mojo in your pickup after dove season ends. Invest in a jerk cord

You need both. Jerk cord when there is no wind (mojo not nearly as good but still effective), mojo when there is wind (mojo most effective, jerk cord useless).

You are correct. Heck, put 2 of them out!

We seem to slay birds when everybody on the lake is running flashers except us.

Actually robo dove on ducks- to get their attention do help at times- have used them in spread or few 100 yards away to catch ducks attention.

I don't like robo ducks- Mojos flair more birds in water than any other deke- don't waste your money. Water motion or simple jerk rig is the ticket.
