My wife and I are looking for a lease around Childress for the 2016-2017 season. Does anyone have any good contact information of ranchers in the area? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to add that we have hunted for quite some time and are willing to join a group of other hunters.

Awesome! Thank you so much. I'm new to the forum. Is there a way I can save your screen name or info? Diehardoutfitter should be easy to remember, lol. Thanks again!!

Saw this on Craigslist. It's about 8 miles south of Childress. Good area imo. If you could get it with only 2 guns $3500 total it would be worth it.

I just want to mention that I've hunted with Diehard a couple of times and that he's a straight shooter.

It's not the Childress area, but hands down the best place I've ever hunted in my life was on the Pitchfork ranch about a hour east of Lubbock. Last time I checked they had available spots on leases. Little pricey but worth every penny I will promise you that.

Check them out at mesquitecountryoutfitters.com

No I'm pretty sure it's $4500 or so a gun. That's what paid for a 18,000 acre lease. Monster whitetail and mule deer. Fun place to hunt because you'll see 140's class deer all day. Truly a ranch that has just about zero pressure

I've hunted the Pitchfork. Some days are awesome, others, not so much. Just like any place. Lots of game, not over hunted at all.

If I could afford it, I would have a spot on a lease out there for the rest of my life. Top notch ranch and a place where deer die of old age. Yes 140 class deer our about the average. Very strict guidelines on these leases ensure that you see trophy class deer every year. I has a feeder setup and probably had 30 to 40 different bucks on it in a year. Mule deer and whitetails. When your hunting a ranch that's 250000 plus acres with there neighbor being the four sixes with another 250000 acres. You see deer that have never crossed paths with a human. How many places have you hunted where you can say that.

That would be a dream come true. I will have to wait a a few years. I have three children that require lots of attention and running around to different activities. When they leave home I will be all over it. Only be about 8 yeara
