Looking to order some raffia grass from Joseph M. Stern to cover my canoe blind. Seeing as they have a 25 lbs min. for bulk orders, and I definitely don't need that much, is anyone in houston area interested in splitting an order?
Also, what colors are a lot you guys on the coast using?

Cabelas has a 5lb box with 5 different colors, it doesn't sound like alot, but I did two complete layouts and I put it on thick, and had some left over. All the colors blended together came out looking pretty good. How long is your canoe?

It's 16 ft in length. Are you referring to the Northern Flight packages?

Yeah, but it's not enough for a 16 foot canoe, I know it would be plenty for my old 12 footer

I figured I would probably need close to 8-10 lbs, and that NF grass is 60$ a bag which buying 2 of for $120 just doesn't seem economical.

I ordering about 30 lbs next week for a couple blinds. I called them yesterday and asked a lot of questions. They are very friendly and helpful. My boat is 18 feet long. They told me 25 lbs would be enough to cover it and have enough left over for a couple layout blinds. Wish I could split it with you. I am ordering next week and then brushing the next weekend. I also have a blind on private property we are brushing with raffia and natural cover. If I end up needing a little more, I may be able to split with you.

I'm looking to buy some for my 15' boat, but not sure about the 25lb minimum order. If you were a little closer to Dallas I'd be willing to split an order with you.

Michaels craft stores sell raffia, i think that they have little bales of it for like $5-8. Not sure how long it is in the bale, but might be worth looking into.

Still no one around houston?
Bull279, I called a few different craft stores but the prices weren't cost effective. JM Stern actually supplies to most of those stores too.
