Hunting the in-laws place and this young buck started showing up every night. To me it looks like someone shot him yet he's still kicking in these pics. Not sure how old the wound is but would like to hear any input. We have some trigger happy idiots nearby.

This is in an AR county too.

He was probably standing the same way as he is in the top pic when he was hit.

Some idiots will shoot anything. I'll bet he'll heal up and be just fine. Tough critters they are.

Yep, If he doesn't get infection and die or shot again for that matter then he will be fine. Our neighbor has shot through several with a bow and they survived many years.

Does not look like a wound from a bullet or arrow to me. With that placement it would have hit something vital or bone IMO. If it was a poachers wound then that deer has 9 lives. Looks like it could be tine punctures from a fight or fibromas possible. Better pics and newer pics might help.

Looking at the angle, I'm thinking arrow or dart that went through. Looks like shot from a tree or tower stand. Just a guess.

I was thinking fibromas too. We have a doe with about a dozen of them. It looks like she survived machine gun fire.
