Took my first deer with a bow last year at my uncles place near Wausau. Heading up there again this Saturday to try and get one a little bigger.
Long drive but a couple days of solitude and the road sure does wonders for the head.
Hopefully I'll have some good pics when I get back.

Had a great trip. Sadly, didn't get a deer. Saw a button buck on the first afternoon out and let him go hoping for something bigger. It rained solid for a couple days with nothing moving.
The last afternoon just before sunset, I saw the biggest buck of my life making a scrape about 80 yards away from my blind. As he started to walk away, I grunted a bit to try and draw him in. He stood there for about 3 minutes and then took off...
Hopefully my uncle will get a shot at him yet this season.

Im originally from Wisconsin. We have some land just North of Portage that I miss hunting on. Talked to my Stepdad passed on a pretty good 8 point last night. He said the bucks are chasing the doe all over the place right now. I bet it was a good trip either way, deer or not.
