While it is dry it is a good time to remove one blind that is a little too small to a new area and build a new blind in it's place.

Picked out a place for a the old blind.

Cut in the bush to help hide the blind. Set up a new platform and placed the old blind on it.

New platform to build on top of.

Building up the support, roof and rails

Side view. That's where things were left and we plan on finishing up things probably this weekend.

By the way, total investment was sweat and $14 worth of screws. Lumber came from someone tearing down their wooden deck.

Sanford and Son is the way to go. I like that new blind you got going there.

It's nice to have a helper. I usually have to hire someone.

Why? No ducks around right now. Just letting the groceries grow until the end of October, then we will flood.

It takes 3 weeks to fill mine so I got the water going already. They are coming down soon.

I was coming home from the playoff game the other day and I saw a bundle of sago palms at the curb to be carried off by the garbage man. I slammed on the brakes and hit reverse. My wife used to say 'Oh how embarrassing you digging in somebody's trash'. Now she says 'I'll pop the trunk'. I reckon redneck is contagious?

Plenty of ducks already down. We had a couple hundred show up in the last two weeks.

Found some curbside a couple weeks ago. Didn't hesitate to stop and load em up. These didn't have the thorns on the stems. Already got them installed on a blind. Curved blade carpet knife is really good for stripping the thorns off the stems.

Yep, papajon should have his own Sanford and Son truck for some of the things he picks up. All that wood, he got over the summer from different places.

Hey I got no problem with used, re-purposed, junk whatever. I would rather re-use than to buy new. It freaks my wife out when I tell her I want to build my own coffin out of barnwood and put it in the barn for when the time comes. I want to be cremated so you could do the viewing with that coffin and burn the whole shebang later. Kick that coffin off in a hole, set it to blaze and I will see you arseholes in the spirit world up .

love to repurpose stuff. Problem is storing junk waiting for rebirth. I like the idea of a barn wood coffin!

A couple more days of work on the blind and finished it up yesterday with papajon and a couple of other hands.

Started the brushing up with bundles of grass

Added netting to the roof to hang over

Added willows

Finishing up and it is looking pretty good

Did you just cut the tall grass and make bundles of it? That looks great.
