It is no wonder that we have less and less public lands to hunt as the years progress. I have have been scouting on several properties, WMA's and others and it never ceases to amaze me at all the crap that others leave behind. I know not all of the trash is from hunters, the kids from the towns new these areas hang out and party on some properties but the shotgun hulls and water bottles and beer cans next to the pile of hulls is just ridiculous. We as hunters have a obligation to pick up after ourselves and leave the area cleaner than we found it. We are grown azz adults and were all taught better.

If I had property leased to TP&W and found all of this happening on my land, no way they would renew with me. Have a little respect and take care of the opportunities to hunt that you have been given. The $48.00 that you pay for your Public Hunting Lands permit isn't an entitlement to do as you please. No wonder landowners want $2,500 or more per gun because they have to put up with everyone's crap.

Just sad to see things the way they are, end of my rand. Everyone have a great season and be safe and hope you harvest that trophy of a lifetime.

Just take a look at our lakes and roadways, trash, trash and more trash. People clearly like the land fill look these days.

I couldn't agree more!

I usually pick up trash that I come across in the woods.

As a matter of fact it usually goes into a Walmart bag and in the back of my truck then to the dumpster at the house because TPWD does not supply trash cans at the WMA that I hunt....

Maybe TPWD should put out some trash cans... good idea for the "suggestions" box on the back of the card.

We have camped and hiked state parks for years, and always take a few extra trash bags along on our trips. If you can leave the place a little better than you found it, it will help to preserve the resource for our kids. It is a good lesson for the kids too, and we usually gave some kind of prize for whoever came back with the most trash, never hurts to motivate them a little bit!

I was dove hunting on public land earlier this month and frustrated at what I saw. I walked a fencerow along the edge of property and there were shotgun hulls everywhere underneath a shaded tree, and one spot had a few six packs worth of empty beer cans. I am dependent on hunting public land only, primarily for financial reasons, so any public space is a treasure to me.

I really don't think the people paying $48 to hunt public lands are the same people leaving beer cans and jerky wrappers all over the place. At least, I hope it's not.

One and the same, finding trash where a make shift turkey/deer blind was set up in the woods. Don't think trash dumpers go to that extreme to hide their effort. A pile of empty hulls and a pile of beer cans together, couldn't be the same person could it? Just saying, grown azz adults should take better care of the resources whether you are hunting , watching birds or just knocking back a couple of cold ones.

I had a guy tell me one time that I would never be able locate him or his stand. The next day walked directly to his stand just by following a trail of empty beer cans and trash. He asked while setting in his "how in the hell did you find me?" I replied by following your trash.

I am nearly 100% dependent on public land as well and really enjoy the variety of dove hunting opportunities. I was just out at a couple this past weekend and it was depressing to see all the accumulated hulls, trash, etc. I went out to the field in Waller a couple weeks back and all I ended up putting in my bag was some other disrespectful person's hulls. Picked up an entire box under a tree. The ground was really exposed, so the hulls were not hard to find.

It is a shame grown adults are so disrespectful. Further testament can be seen on the Chap's facebook page. Lots of violations reported. Glad to see they are stepping it up. Last year my group and I were nearly held at gun point by someone blocking a sendero. They were literally pacing back and forth with a shotgun in hand, and actually stood in front of our truck and refused to move.
