I got tired of being indoors today so I decided to take my dog dove hunting as the season is almost over here. We went behind a dairy since the birds are constantly flying there no matter how much rain we've had. On my way back to the truck I shot a bird pretty high that fell probably 70 yards away and in some thick brush. I saw my dog get it and start to head back, but after a few seconds of her not coming to me I peeked around the bush to see that she had found a puddle to cool off in and roll in. Problem is, it was where they dumped the dead cows and cow Crap and smelled gawd aweful. When I got to her she was laying in it and a dead calf was foating about 5 feet away from her. I almost threw up, took me 30 minutes to wash her. Made me rethink my dairy hunting, now I just hope she doesn't get sick!

Hahaha, some days are diamonds and some are coal. At least you got to hunt.

While that is funny, not sure what the risk is of her getting sick. As long as she doesn't, the story will still be funny...

Not even your petting and pampering can lower a dogs resistance.

You however almost certainly have some form of hepatitis from petting and pampering your dog after that incident. Perfect example of survival of the fittest....

Used to have a dog when I was a kid that like to roll in her poop. I somehow was always the one that got to clean her up. I know that gag reflex well. Yours sounds worse and makes me want to gaga just thinking about it.

I wish I would have gotten a pic of her laying down next to her friend she had made, but I was to pissed to think.

Man that stinks
The neighbors buffalo had got through the fence and into our yard. I was unaware of this and our little 15 pound house dog went and rolled in the fresh warm piles. He was caked in poo and came running in the house wagging his tail like saying "look at me, woo hoo!" Then he decided it was play time as I chased him around the house trying to catch him.
Sometimes dog can be a mess.

Dogs can be a mess. But what would we do without the lil' fellers? They bring such joy to our lives.

That is one story that probably won't make Sporting Classics Magazine, but man that's funny.
