Great pics! I have not seen a Monarch migration of large numbers like that since 89 and 90 IIRC.

Cool to see you making your own spray, great idea. How long do you boil it down?

Thanks, I usually low boil for about an hour then simmer over the weekend strain through a sock and store it in gallon water jugs and believe me it works very good. We have a bow only lease and it is a game changer.

Pretty neat to see butterfly hatches like that.

The cedar spray is interesting to me. I've never seen or even heard about it. Going to have to do some reading.

Nice pics by the way.

Good Morning! There really isn't much to it, I look for a big cedar with little berries on it and lots of foliage and use some pruners to cut it up small enough to fit in a big pot. I try and strip some of the bark off and expose the inside of small branches and after a good one hour boil I stir it up flip everything over and simmer on low for at least 24 hours then strain it and put it through a sock. I usually end up with 2-3 gallons and after years of success I truly believe it works. This past weekend I had several deer under 10 yards.

Good luck!

Long time back, 64 or 65, I was in Christoval TX during one of the migrations. Was on land bordering the east side of the Concho, and the monarchs were so thick the trees looked golden. Large pecans and oaks had limbs so loaded with butterflies that the weight was pulling the limbs down to the ground. You could walk up to a limb and actually scrape large handfuls off the trees.
