Found this Saturday morning and it was still very fresh. The blood was not clotted and the ribs were eaten. This is on a high fence place with good fence but I am sure there are crossings here and there. Not much in the way of tracks in the dirt of claw marks that were obvious. Best guess on what the carnivore was? Two pics of the deer and one of the view from where one sat with a rifle and waited...

Any bite marks on back or front of neck....if so I'd say you spooked a large cat off the kill....otherwise a pack of yotes...

Looks like coyote to me, went for the high value meal on the inside, doesn't even look like much muscle was taken. Does look like the back strap and some spine are missing.

Skin out the neck. If you see bite marks on the underside it is a coyote.

If it's a HF place you need to find where the whole is pretty quick.

We walked the perimeter not too long ago but it looks like it is time to walk it again. With some snare in the hand!
