Thinking about getting a lease but is it too late to get on one?

By the time you put the feeders in and start them working will it not be worth the cost since the deer won't be accustomed to it by the time the season ends?

Never to late to get a lease.
And you don't have to have a feeder to hunt them.
Just sayin!!!

A lease should be looked at (in my opinion) as a long term transaction. If you can get on one, you might not get your best hunt this year, but you will learn what you need to do for next year and have all year to do it. I lost my lease and now depend on DIY hunts on public land. Headed to Colorado with a group here in less than two weeks. Hunting is what you make it.

We don't fill and run our feeders until about 2 or 3 weeks before the season starts. When they run out after the season ends, we pull the batteries. and they are dormant, until at least mid September. When we go to our place in the off season we do corn the roads, but that is the only corn we put out in the off season.

I still see deer at the feeders by opening morning. In our area they will find a feeder within few days of the setting it up. The lack of off season corn also helps to keep the hogs out of our pastures. Both neighbors have hog problems, and they both feed corn year around, if I want a hog, all I have to do is as them if I can hunt them.

cheers As dogcatcher say.... Here theirs usualy enough brows & foradge on ground fir deer ta feed corn all year round... It gets expensive... Food plots do more, mines at creek, plant let it get started, corn feeder was over ta the right... It set on lower setting, more for sound... Deer come investigate, find food plot.... If find good price on the wildlife protien for deer get few bags... Got less than bag corn left from when it was #3.00 something.... Been using it for if hog shows up on cam... Most of stuff have set up here is 98% for gettig picks on cam's of deer, & if hog or two shows up... Times spent in woods more for theropy... As far as getting on new lease question, up ta individual... Their is public land & draw hunts... Best wishes.. flag

It's gonna be tough. Most places are pretty much full and when it comes to stand locations all the good spots will be occupied. But you never know..
