What is your preference? Bow hunting on the edge of a field or deep in the woods?

Also tree stand or ground blind?

Where the deer are but usually deep woods in a tree stand

Your worst day of hunting is always better than your best day at work

White tail like edge habitat.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I'd rather hunt an edge if at all possible because it's easy to get into and out of your stand without waking up the entire woods and spreading your scent around as well.
Hunting in the heavy woods is like hunting in the deers living room. They know exactly where you are nine times out of ten, or they will know soon enough.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Thanks guys.

I am close to the edge of a field. Probably about 100 feet inside the tree line. Still yet to get my first bow kill.

This is my 3rd year bow hunting.

Totally depends on the piece of real estate. IMO hunting edges is the highest percentage chance to see deer movement in general and just seeing deer makes a 4+ hour sit in a stand sooooooo much more enjoyable. Although alot of the places I have hunted over the years have been High pressured areas and the good bucks were highly reclusive and hemmed up in some of the deepest darkest corners of the planet and would just barely come out 30 min before dark.

^^^This

I'm my experience trying to go set up in heavy woods just drives the buck/bucks out. It's easier to get in and out quietly on the edge of a field.

I'd rather let them feel safe in heavy cover and wait to catch them in the open when they need to feed or chasing tail.
