Our lease is timber company owned and our land owners set some pretty tight rules this year. We aren't allowed to have anyone who isn't a signed lease member come on to the land to perform work for us unless they have a million dollar liability insurance coverage with our landowner listed on the COI.

We never see the land owner's agent, but we aren't about to possibly lose the lease by breaking their rules.

We haven't been able to find someone to help with brush hogging and food plots that has the insurance policy, so our next option is to rent a tractor with a mower and disc. Anyone willing to rent those 3 for a week next year or no of a place to rent all three from?

I'm going to check the feed store next time I'm in to see if they have any leads, but I'd like to make sure we have something lined up for next September.

Trinity county

I was going to check equipment rental places too. Looking online i've seen a lot that offer tractors and mowers but not discs. I was hoping to find a one stop shop.

And the problem with most craigslist ads is they don't have the $1MM liability.

I got the brush hog and tractor but not a disk to rent. To find that you will probably have to find a smaller size store like mine closer to the country to get a disk. I don't even rent a 3 point tractor anymore cause people just tear it up to bad.

Where is your lease at? I could make a few calls depending on the area to some guys I know that have stores in that area.

I don't think the national chains like sunbelt or united would have a disk either they mainly go after bigger commercial jobs for long term stuff.

A box blade with teeth will do a suitable job for food plots (allowing you aren't talking 100's of acres) I just got through doing our 6 acre food plot a couple weeks ago and the wheat is already up. I have a disc harrow, the box blade is easier and yields suitable results. Good luck!

Go by any tractor dealership, New Holland, John Deer, ect. They'll rent you what you need or tell you where to find it.

There used to be a rental place in Onalaska, just a short drive from Groveton, over on Lake Livingston

Like Nav said you could probably pay for a cheap tractor with what it costs to rent for that amount of time.
