I've got a meat hunt coming up starting on Tuesday at Gus Engeling WMA for a drawn does/spikes hunt. Has anyone hunted that area this year on any drawn hunts? I'm looking for any advice for that WMA. It is close to Richland Creek WMA which I hunted in October and I saw plenty of deer and actually got an 11 pointer. Thanks for any help!

My Nephews just participated on a youth hunt in November. Have a good pop-up blind and there was no baiting. Saw one deer, maybe a doe, and one Nephew missed a hog. Great campsite but at the time was a burn ban. Be careful around water because of gators if still warm. Good luck.

Yes, we just got back from there weekend before last. Only one deer (baby doe) was killed.

You will see allot of deer but they will be moving fast and won't stop at all. When you get there to check in they will ask you what compartment you prefer. We hunted in compartment 12, and noticed each day we saw 4 deer cross the road into the compartment just south of 12. Compartment 12 is on the North side of the East/West road, and the one just South were the deer were moving had a nice highline to hunt on. If you have a ladder stand I would bring it.
