Hello all,
For several years, a bunch of friends would stay at one of their family's ranch house close to Llano and dove hunt. We haven't been in 5 years due to the land being sold. One year we did rent a house in Bonham that had a pond right in front, and a field to hunt for dove a short drive away. The house had a pool table, 3-4 bedrooms, when you walked in it was all open with the living room on the left, kitchen straight ahead and pool table to your right. I cannot find this place anymore, but wish I could. If this place sounds familiar to anyone, and you know if it's still around, please let me know.
I am trying to find a place to hunt for next year. I know this will be a long shot because if there's a place you know of, I'm sure it's taken either by you or someone else, but maybe there's someone on here that has something like this. We are looking for a place that has a cabin, house, etc that would sleep 8-10 people, and have land to hunt on that is either private or not too many hunters. Every place I click on online is for guided hunts. We don't need that. We just want to go hunting at our leisure in the morning or evening for the whole weekend.
If you know of reasonably priced places like this, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know.

I'd take a look at what STOMPY has to offer. A bunch of guys on here go out to his place and have a lot of fun. Also, he has the birds from all the pics being posted.

Not Pintail, although that does look nice. The one we stayed at close to there was just a red brick house. One of the guys that went with us found it off a fishing site, but he says it's not on there anymore.

If anyone else has any secret gems, let me know... Most of us are in the Dallas area, but we don't mind taking a road trip.

Looked at Stompy's place? Not too far from Dallas and from what I've heard it's very nice.

I just did, thank you! Just sent them a message. I can't find many non-guided hunts anywhere. We are use to just going out when we feel like it. Prefer just a place to stay and a point in the direction of the field to hunt at.

Talk to him, he has several fields and I'm sure can accommodate.

Going to be hard to find a labor day weekend opening with lodging I think.
