Over kill? Under equipped? Possible Yeti owners?
Does this really help a person bag more dove, even when you have 16 mojo decoys going?

I used to be an avid dove hunter.
We always just wore jeans and shirt with a gun vest, if it was hot we would remove our shirts.
Never used Mojo and never thought about painting my face

Same type that go to the shooting range in full combat gear and think you need a 338 lapua to kill a whitetail.
I will get off in a little bit

Jeans and dark shirt is all that is needed.
Mojos are the bomb though. They really work and they will increase the amount of dove you bag or how fast you bag them.

I hunt in jeans and a shirt, some days its camo, some days its a brown shooting shirt. I used a mojo a few times back in the day, where we hunt there are a lot of whitewings and they really pay them no mind so we just hunt doves the "old fashioned" way went to the ranch Friday with my GF who is new to wingshooting so I picked one up to get her some easy shots(mostly mourning dove there). I forgot how much fun those things are. they were dipping and diving into the decoy in 3's and 4's and were landing next to it. We got limits pretty quick, and the mojo def. helped

If that makes people happy why worry. It's not really hurting anything. If it makes the observer feel like a superior person then it's a win-win for everyone. They get the joy of hunting in full camo and the observer receives self validation that he is not an idiot.
To be determined

Whitewings for sure do not decoy and it will even flare them but it sure sucks in the mourning dove.

I wear shorts and a khaki shirt most days. I think full camo is overkill for a little bird that doesn't pay much attention to things unless they are moving. I am more into keeping cool than being cool!

Yup...full camo helps, staying still helps, mojo is definitely a big help. Some days the birds are so thick or careless it doesn't matter if you wear a clown suit. It is all about getting close to the birds so you hunt the situation your field gives you. On opening day the birds in my field were using the middle of the plowed field (almost zero cover). The guys in chairs on the side of the filed killed a few but I watched a guy in the middle of the field wear a camo hoodie, get small kill his limit before anyone else. What does it hurt to stack the cards in your favor?.

I usually just wear a dark shirt, shorts and a game vest. However, if folks want to get decked out that's fine with me.

Discuss Not sure anyone really cares. I know I don't. I'd feel comfortable betting that when most hunters start out they probably buy a bunch of non needed camo, vests, bags, stools, bucket stools that spin, etc. have you looked in your hunting closet lately? the best part of these posts are the people that chime in and say, "no not me", we are way to cool to hunt like that. We just role up in whatever we woke up in and the birds just fall at our feet. I'd like to own a yeti. Not because I think it would make me appear to be better hunter or a "better" outdoorsman than the next guy, I am tired of all my ice melting in the cheap [censored] igloo I currently have. Hunting is whatever you or I want to make it. If we both get the same results, what's your point?

I see tons of cyclists rolling thru my neighborhood every weekend wearing complete Tour de France outfits and riding $10k bikes. Only difference are the pot bellys.
I see attorneys and doctors riding Harley's dressed up in leather like an OG Hells Angel or Mongol.
I see crotch rocket riders out for a ride wearing complete GTP racing outfits.
If someone wants to fulfill their inner Rambo on a dove hunt, all the power to him/her.
I get excited like a little kid when it's 3am, cold and blustery outside and I'm puttin on my gear and getting ready to head out. My wife thinks it's crazy, I think it's FUN. I feel like a little kid again every time I do it. And I can't begin to tell you how many times I've been approached at the gas station or Whataburger or wherever by kids/fathers asking if I'm a duck hunter, if I've shot a duck, and if they can get a pic of me and their son holding a duck. Used to blow my mind, it's happened so much I don't think much about it.
A big part of what we do is because it's fun. Why else would we sit for hours freezing our asses off in waist deep water?

A buddy of mine told me 25 years ago.."What we need to do is start making bicycle riding gear." I said "What, t shirts and shorts?" He said "No, man. One of these days bike riding is going to be big, and they're going to want a special uniform for it. We should start now and get in on the ground floor." I thought he was nuts.

I've never seen a dove hunter with any camo or black paint on their face. I guess it depends on who your friends are

I met a guy once who kept talking about his yetis and his $1,200 worth of coolers. Sounds like something he would do.
