Congrats! Cant help you on info as I am still trying to get drawn there myself. May try posting in the public hunting section. They definitely have some big bodied bucks there. Good luck and have fun.

Matador is a big place some areas require 4x4. mostly spot and stalk. be ready to work for it or you may get lucky and stand hunt the right area and drop him in the road, you never know. normally plenty of deer and hogs but I have not been there in about 5 years.

the deer are there, its just weather you are in the right spot, and there is a lot of ground to cover, them deer could be right under your nose and sometimes you'll never know it. If the weather is bad you will need 4x4, bring food and what every else you might need, its not that far back to town but running back and forth to town will get old quick, camp there or get a room in town. good luck, there is plenty of us that have been trying for years to draw that hunt and we are still waiting.

I got drawn for antlerless/spike with my son. They hunt by compartments and I guess you get to choose based on order you were drawn. Anyone have suggestion as to which compartments may be best?

I have hunted the Dogleg and Ox pastures. Seen plenty of critters in both. Shot a doe and a hog in Ox 2 years ago. My favorite WMA I've been to so far.
