Going to be converting some of my sprayer heads to the brown drip irrigation pipes that go under the mulch, thinking its a much better way to water with less waste.
But I have some hanging baskets that cook in this summer heat. I water them morning and evening but it's just not enough. I'm thinking of using either small water bottles or 2 liter bottles for a continuous drip throughout the day. What have yall used?

We use a lot of drip on median landscape beds, you can get different gallons per hour(gpm). It's usually spaced on 18' or 24' centers
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

I'm still looking into this but haven't pulled the trigger yet. How do I determine how many GPH/GPM my sprinkler head is putting out? I don't want to use too much drip irrigation and not have water reach the ends

You'll never be able to run drip and pop ups on the same valve. Drips, depending on the valve and emitter size puts out around 1-4 gallons per hour, pop ups are anywhere from 1.0 to 3,0 a minute

You want your drips to run longer than your spray heads.

I used it when we planted the trees. I put 1 gal/hour drip heads on them and ran the timer an hour a day, dumping a gallon of water a day on the new trees. We didn't lose a single tree. After three years, I quit watering the trees and abandoned the tubing underground. All the trees are still thriving.

If you want to see a drip system I can show you about 150 acres worth out here. Might be a little overkill though

I need to do this around my fruit trees, hauling water is starting to suck, watching this thread along with a lot of reading online.

For drip, it should. You would need to find out what the gpm/gph is per manifold and match that with the number of emitters on the drip- if the outlet puts out 6 gph, you would only want to have the number of emitters that equal to 6 gph. Or are you asking about drip and pop ups on the same valve?

I was looking at doing drip and pop ups on the same valve. Converting four sprayer to drips and leaving what's in the yard as sprayers

One of the drip fields. This one is small at less than 15 acres. The filter setup 16 of the 24 zones. Solenoids control each one and the have flowmeters and pressure gauges Controller Injection tank tied into tape to inject fertilizer or whatever chemical I want to treat cotton with.

Holy Cow Dustin, that is a system right there!
I guess with a rig that big you are using some kind of large drip pipe versus a tape type delivery?

I personally- and I'm not a licensed irrigator, don't think it will work. The reason is your pop ups, depending on the psi and nozzle will put out 1-3 gallons a minute, drip puts out 3ish gallons per hour. So to get the water to soak in on drip, your running it for 30 minutes or so. Turf or bed pop ups usually run around 15 minutes. On the same valve, your pop ups would put out 45 gallons compared to maybe 1 gallon on the drip. Lots of varibles I was looking at doing drip and pop ups on the same valve. Converting four sprayer to drips and leaving what's in the yard as sprayers

I guess with a rig that big you are using some kind of large drip pipe versus a tape type delivery? Dustin, how is the tubing laid in the field? Interesting stuff. It is drip tape in the field buried 8" or so. The tape is from netafim and they are pretty much the leader in drip tape and make all sorts of sizes, thicknesses, and types of emitters. Our tape is about .875" diameter and puts out 1.5GPM. The tape is installed with a tractor mounted implement that basically has shanks the dig in the ground and the tape unrolls behind it and is buried. The 16 zones shown are 8 row zones and have tape in the furrow every 80". We have some fields that tape is buried on 40s. So 4 tapes are in a zone putting out a total of 6GPM per zone. Right now I have them divided out where 8 zones are getting 70% irrigation, 4 are getting 50%, and 4 are receiving 100%. I'm running a 70+ GPM well on that field so I run 12 zones at a time

I laid the Netafim tech line CV around the perimeter of my house to water the foundation. So far so good.

That is a nice set up Dustin, I have a friend back east that does basically the same thing, with the tractor attachment it is a one man job darn near.
Looks like you are also set up for liquid feed injection as well.
