A guy I work with saw a 18-20" axis buck along the side of the road in Chambers County. Supposedly, there was a small exotic farm in the area that was taken out by Hurricane Ike and all the animals escaped. That was in 2008, I wonder how many are out in this area.

Is this guy a heavy drinker?

See y’all around the campfire.

The way they can move thru a watershed and follow rivers they remind me of hogs. Only a lot better looking and tasting. I wouldn't be surprised to see them anywhere there is water!

Nah, and he knows the difference between an axis and a whitetail.

Yes, there have been several sightings from there to just north of Beaumont. Haven't heard of them on the coast proper though.

All of the guys that work for me say they see 4 foot tall 12-14 point axis all of the time. Drinking is very likely figured into their judgment. But that is no where near the Upper Gulf
