Shot a few funky Axis deer this weekend out at the Indianhead Ranch in Del Rio



My dad shot one that the tips of the main beams curled back down to the seconds. I didn't get a good pic of that one.

I was told that frost bite will cause that.

Good eating there. Was down in Camp Wood hunting axis last year and one morning temps were in the teens and bucks were of course in velvet. Ranch mgr said he has seen strange things with cold temps in Jan/Feb to axis. No pics to prove it though..
