This is one deer you need to be super careful with. You'll likely be tempted to shoot him this year, but I would suggest waiting until you could get someone like me to come and evaluate him for you. You don't want to shoot him too soon. On the other hand I am expert at these things and would be in a better position to hunt in your blind for you opening weekend. I'll give a fair evaluation. Of course, the best way to evaluate a deer is up close, and I might have to shoot him to get the best inspection. You'll understand, I'm sure.

Nice deer..I would have to shoot him unless (1) I had killed several bigger deer, and (2) I was 100% sure he'd make it to next year without being shot by the neighbors this Fall.

Probably a few more years and he will be a shooter.

I'd tag him if he walked past my stand. And not think twice.

As always it depends. Where are you hunting? What are you wanting to accomplish where you hunt? What is his age estimate as you cannot tell from pics without full body. If you are on a small property surrounded by other hunters who will take him that has to be considered. If on large property being managed then depending on age he should maybe walk. Beautiful deer

My thoughts exactly on a couple leases id shoot him without hesitation ,on a couple other places i may let him walk , and dont forget and im not trying to take away from him at all cause he is a dang nice deer but the look in velvet always looks more heavy
