Anyone have one? Shot one a while back and really liked it. In the market for a new bow and for the price this looks like the direction I'm heading. Just curious if anyone has had one for a while and what your thoughts are on it.

I know they are selling brand new 2014 Models at a discount right now. If they don't have what you want, they can probably order it for you. The owner, Cam Cope, shoots competitively with Prime bows and can possibly answer any questions you might have.

You know how much they're asking for them? I tried calling yesterday and today but no answer.

Gimmick bows imo. I shot them in 2014. Like the Elite bows, they are not elite like Hoyt or Mathews. They are a grade down but they are priced like the higher end bows. To me, they are over priced for what you get.

I would love to get an Elite or Mathews, just not in my price range right now, even used over $700 easy for the newer ones. What are you shooting and why passthru? Appreciate the feedback.

Currently I'm shooting a Hoyt carbon spyder 30. I was shooting an Elite energy 32. Basically my buddy was going to buy a new bow. We went to CCR, he shot several and settled on the carbon spyder. He talked me into shooting one and the grip, the draw, the whole process sold me on it. So even though my bow was only a year old I decided to change. And I'm glad I did. I'm shooting 4" groups at 50 yards and with my old eyes that isn't too shabby. But if you look at the little things on an Elite or Prime bow you will see that there is quality and design step down from a Mathews or Hoyt. While the Mathews, except the no cam which is slow, has to jumpy of a cam for my reconstructed shoulders, they are on the cutting edge every year with technology advances and design innovations. Hoyt is the same way. The weight, the balance, the vibration absorption. Elites, while very nice bows, are heavy and slow. The prime dual cam set up is a gimmick that adds too much weight. To me it's like someone needs to tell them if they want to play in the big league and charge a big league price then honestly present a big league product.

Thanks passthru. I haven't shot a Hoyt, they always looked heavy and bulky to me, but just looked at stats and was surprised by the weight, or lack of.

Field and stream puts out a very good independent ranking every year. I've shot all the major brands and think Bowtech is way above the rest personally. Probably why they win most years.

Bowtech doesn't make a bad bow but I can't deal with the grip and how loud they are.

I have been out of the archery game for some time now my last bow was a Matthews Q2 and last year i started shooting again i bought a Diamond Outlaw and will never spend the money on a Mathews again. Im not saying anything bad except for $500 this Diamond came complete i did change the rest to a QAD rest and this bow is quiet and smooth at 58lbs im getting 276fps and love it now my Q2 back in 2000 cost me $900 for just the bow. So i say if your just starting out or don't have the money for a high end bow don't hesitate to pick up a Diamond after all Diamond is a single cam Bowtech. IMO these bows compare with the high end names for far less for you hard earned dollar. My brother has a Bowtech and my bow is just as fast but less money and as i stated before not loud at all i know the early Bowtech were loud but not anymore so that's a plus in my book

A deer doesn't care if the arrow that killed it came from a $250 set up combo bow from a chain store or a $2500 all high end set up from a pro shop. It's the other tangible details that make the difference to the individual archer. I personally shoot regularly and enjoy my bow. I notice the small things and fidgeting with a grip that's not as comfortable as I would like makes a difference over thousands of shots. A pound bow on a still day during practice let's me know a deer hears it much better than I. I killed my first 5 archery deer with a $65 clearance Bear whitetail 2 bow from KMart. But I missed a few that jumped the string on me as well.

Shoot what you can afford and be consistent with. Stay within you and your equipment limitations and get out there and hunt.

Good advice, I shoot a Diamond these days and it serves my needs well. If I shot a lot more I would most likely have a high end bow but been there done that and these days just enjoy shooting enough to know my abilities and limitations and stay within them while hunting.

Exactly! Well stated! I started with a fiber glass long bow age 12 ,and first compound was a Bear(BlackBear) from early 1980s,I went through a Ben Person,3 or 4 PSEs, another Bear, a Martin and now very happy a Matthews DXT( for last 4 years).
Point is 1),Get a bow, 2) shoot the bow, 3) shoot the bow some more... 4) find folks that like to do 1-3!!! Avoid the hype sort out your own comfort and likes! You'll be the one shooting and using it! You will weed things out..meh "school" cost money!

Ended up with the Prime alloy, got a great deal on it and it showed up at the house today. Hopefully getting it to the shop tomorrow to get her slinging arrows.

They are open from 9-6 Tuesday though Saturday, but most Saturdays they are holding competitions and the office line can get left unattended.

I get the question of, what bow should I get or is brand good. I am a bow tech guy and have been for years.nmy statement to them is go shoot every bow you can get your hands on. Buy the bow that shot without you realizing it. That's your bow. Everyone has different likes and needs. Some bows shoot better or just feel better to other folks
