Hi all,

This doe has popped up on my camera on my lease near johnson city. She has that mark on both sides of her haunches, left and right in pretty much the same spot.

This is the best pic I have of it. Any idea on what that could be?

Is she just starting to grow in her winter coat? There's lots of splotchy deer running around this time of year.

It looks like she has a big hole in her. Still eating so that's a good thing.

My guess is biting flies that continue to hit that one spot. She is licking or rubbing that spot continually, rubbing all the summer hair off and winter hair is not showing yet.
