This is a frame handle and guard set up. Not sure if you can see the color case hardening well. I can see it better but due to the light I cannot pull it in for the guard. In person it looks better. The handle is just resting on top of the frame right now. The handle material is a piece of Walrus ivory that has a fire starter hole on the off side. I will have it shot better later when I get it all together. It looks like I forgot how to post. No time now, I will figure on it later so for not it is a click and sniff thing. Is this question in regards to the symmetry of the knife?

BCoal, about knifemaking in general. I should have went to work hanging chickens at the plant as my mother said I was qualified for. I swear as long as I have been doing this you would think a person could get the hang of it. But, noooooo. I still bury a number of blades in the pasture through out the year. This one finally went together the way I wanted it to but what a booger. I have put the two outside bolts in the handle now. When I slid it together for this photo I had not put all of the internal pins in it. The handle has a total of 10 internal pins. I cut a 2x4 with it after it was all together so it works. I still have to engrave the two outside handle bolts then will sent it off for a better photo. If yall want I will post it up then. And the arggg was about posting a photo too. Yall stay cool down there and someone go shoot a pig for me dang it. We have not went in 2 months now.

Your "arggg" left me confused and you are probably right, by now you would have got the technique of hanging those chickens down pat, and you would not be having these confusing moments. Or you could have went to school and become a chicken sexer, that is where the big money is!! Keep up the good work, world needs more edged instruments. Right now it is too hot and I'm too old and tired to hit a lick at a slow black snake crawling in front of me, so hogs will get a break and the dove must be in your pasture pecking around looking for knives, we don't even have many home town residents. 2x4 huh ? Should cut sausage or slice bacon and you can poke a hole through those biscuit cans in case they get onery. I would offer to trade you my camp for your knife but wouldn't want to be accused of taking advantage of you. I think the most impressive thing to me is the use of 24K gold, not 18 or 14 or 10, go all out. Class is priceless.

TES! YES! YES! Please post pics of the finished product! This is one classy piece of art. I'd love to chop a 2x4 with that dude, too. I bet it didn't have any problem with that board. Again, awesome work!

A real beauty Jerry. Makes me want to take a week and go to GRS. Check the file type on your pic. Not sure it was saved as a .jpeg image.

Thanks David. I had not thought of that. I am getting ready to send this off to Denver for photos so it will be awhile. He can bring out the colors and patterns much better than my point and shoot.

Jerry just a thought but I think part of your problem is the background color. I collect watches and keep a piece of green felt use as a background. It's not perfect but the pictures are better.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype
