Anybody have any dove reports for Ellis county. I haven't had time to look for myself!

Had a several at the bird feeder for a while. I've only seen a couple in the last few days. I'm in Pecan Hill.

I've been in fields from Red Oak to Waxahachie the past 2 weeks & haven't seen nearly as many the past few days as before that front last week..

It's not looking great for Sept. 1st, saw 10 over a 15 mile drive yesterday evening south of Wax.

I hope a front will bring some in soon...I'm down in Navarro near Dawson and it's been slim this August so far. Last year the split season was by far better...

Good to know, I usually give up after the south zone opener. I will try my luck in October or December this year

December dove can be great...it's usually a cold hunt but lots of shots! Yesterday I shot at two birds and missed them both... eek

Really slow yesterday near bardwell. Only saw 10 birds between the morning and evening. Only shot twice.

Hunting just south of Waxahachie last 2 mornings, 9 birds combined. Last year we were limited out by 830am.

I went opening morning and didn't get a single bird. Saw 50 or so, but all out of range. The Ranch next to us, it sounded like WW3. I do have my eye on a White dove that was on the other side of the field from me.
