La finca is just east of Dairy Queen off the interstate. I ate lunch there today and it was great. I'm not too fond of the other two restaurants in Ranger. The sale barn between Ranger and Eastland is good too.

Since there is a college in Ranger I thought surely there would be some kind of burger joint or something. Some one said something about a place called Shooters Café but we are new to the area and don't know where that is. For the 3 years we have been on our lease in that area we have been going through Strawn to get to the lease off 207 but I just found out I like 717 to Ranger better than taking the 207-717 jog and staying on 207 through Strawn.

Shooters has a good breakfast. The burger joint across the street from shooters has great burgers but you'll be in there an hour waiting for your food.

Vicki’s Cafe and Donuts, 1219 Loop 254 West across from Ranger College. Donuts and breakfast burritos are quick. Take a menu and phone order in for all other meals as she is slow but it's fresh.
Boomtown Pizza, 510 W Main (about 6 blocks after crossing over the RR tracks) has good pizza. Can eat there or they will meet you at the graveyard off 717 at the Stephens County line if your camp too far for delivery.
Sometimes a few fellas are selling BBQ near the stoplight in Ranger for lunch on weekends.
La Finca mentioned above gives their beer away free. No liquor license.

I had the CFS at shooters and it may have been just a one time thing but it was like eating a stick of butter. I like butter but man I would like to taste something else.

It could have been worse, you could have eaten a CFS at Mary's and all you would have tasted is garlic.

Well we finally tried the breakfast at Shooters Café in Ranger Sunday morning. Nothing worth bragging about. Both our over easy eggs were over cooked, hash browns were just OK, sausage and bacon were good but it is pretty hard to mess that up unless you grossly over/under cook it. We will give it another try but for now I am unimpressed.

I stopped at Vickie's cafe last week to get a breakfast burrito and one of the ladies told me they had no way to hear it up. I'm not too picky but a cold breakfast burrito didn't sound too good. I probably won't go back.

Better off going to Eastland. Well known you don't like Mary's CFS, but have you tried anything else on the menu?

Our new route to and from the lease takes us through Ranger instead of Strawn so was looking for a place or two to stop for breakfast or lunch that was not our of the way. I did try Mary's a second time. The chopped sirloin was over cooked and dry, again the mashed potatoes reeked with garlic and I still don't get the wimpy salad they serve. The best part of that meal was the brown gravy. Haven't been back since and have no desire to.

Understand Bubba. Had a lease near you for 7 years and nothing in Ranger. Shooters was really the only place and like you said we didn't care for it. Our group was not much into eating in town anyway, rather cook something at camp. We are now north of Cisco and same thing.

Vicky should open on Saturday once season starts.
On your drive:
Try New York Hill in Thurber right off I20 for good lunch or dinner.
Outlaw BBQ just west of weatherford serves breakfast burritos all day. Exit 403, Dennis Road and go north one block.
