I'm guessing 60 days. Depends on the Army Corp of Engineers, how fast they lower Lewisville.

Holy Crap. Never thought about water still being running. Caney Creek is having 2 registered shoots this month if you don't mind the drive. And Fossil Pointe and Alpine are open.

It's too big of a cash cow. Last I heard they were grossing 100k+ a month in range fees.

I used to go there a lot. Than they brought in a new bunch of ROs who insist on treating people poorly and walking up and making adjustments to people's grip while they shoot, and without the shooter asking for advice.

Rifle/Pistol and Sporting Clays are ok but they treat Skeet shooters like 2nd class citizens. The skeet fields are a wreck, all the boundary stakes are gone and they normally refuse to adjust the targets properly. I once asked when the targets were last "hooped" and was told never. Years ago we would fill all 6 fields year round with the skeet leagues, now they cancel about 50% because they can't draw enough shooters.

I haven't had too many issues at the shotgun side. But than again it's kinda of on your own. The rifle/pistol is what I do not like.

Scott is usually running around somewhere. He'd probably be glad to hear your concerns. Its his cash cow and I suspect he takes it seriously.

I think because it's a cash cow he doesn't. There is enough people that will go regardless because they are the closest range for may people

Not exactly.
There is a private ranch in Oklahoma that he is a partner in. There are some machines on the ranch to throw targets and there is also a 5 stand set up. But it is not open to the public. It is a high fenced ranch set up for hunting, not target shooting. If you would like to know more about it look up Side by Side ranch in Winnewood, Oklahoma.

As far as Clerc's comments about Elm Fork being a cash cow. The man has developed a successful business model. What's wrong with that? If you don't like the way he runs it then don't do business with the man. Everyone that is business is in business to make money. To do that you must maximize your potential. The cooperate events that Elm Fork host's is a big part of their revenue. The beginner and novice shooter to get them to hit targets and be safe and feel comfortable around firearms is the key to getting them to come back and be repeat customers.

I don't fault him for making money. I fault him for how his employees act. I don't go there because of that. I used to shoot out there weekly but don't anymore.

Sweet. Also, July 19 will be the opener of a new clays game. Its called Match Play Sporting. Look it up at Matchplaysporting.com . Large cash payouts. I shot the public rollout of it at State in April. Its fun and the average shooter has just as good a chance as the Master Class shooters.
