So this is the response to you not getting your way with a scope you bought ?
If you've had enough, Maybe You could just return it ?
If not, I'm in need of a 3x version for my PCP rifle, so if you can't return your scope, let me know ?
I'll pay what you paid for it and save you from the grief of having to deal with ATN.

On another note, I figured out why my scope was freezing when I tried to take video with the Beta .234 firmware.
Before I went out hunting last night, I noticed that the camera icon was set to off when I clicked on it before switching to NV mode.
I set it to 2s and the scope doesn't freeze when going into video mode now.
I know it's a beta version , but it was a pain in the [censored] having to do a hard reboot before using the scope every time.
Just got my DT SRSA1 rifle chambered in .260 Rem tonight, so I'm going to mount the X sight on it and see what happens at the range Saturday.
ATN's No. 1 FANBOI checking out.

It is odd to me that people who do not work for this company respond so physically to a link to the FTC complaint tool. I will never understand that. NEV-ER.

I am not selling you my scope, and yes, actually, that is what I consider both the RIGHT and RESPONSIBILITY of anyone who bought something that was not as advertised. Also, we are not friends.

I CAN'T return the scope (as you know) due to the expiration of my return policy, and on the promise that this would all be fixed in firmware "in two weeks."

To your chagrin (and possibly ATN's), I am keeping it. They WILL fix it or settle out with me, because that is THEIR responsibility.

Let's all sit around the campfire, and hear some stories where people defend the Facebook posts touting the efficacy of the beta firmware, but yet dropping off the radar where updates about this magical firmware is concerned (sorry if I just hurt your scope's feelings).

S6275, thank you so much for your words of wisdom through out this thread. You have beat us over the head with your opinions trying to brain wash any and everybody that disagrees with you. You have convinced me and I am sure others that you are correct in your evaluation that ATN is out to screw all customers and we are not smart enough to see that and just hand over our money with out thinking or care.

ATN is scared of you and that is why they will not respond to your statements and comments. I stand behind you, my leader, S6275 to guide me in my thinking, opinions and direction in life so I may walk down that Night Vision path to glory so I can shoot the monster 600lb pig that roams this earth. I bow to your greatness your majesty and only hope I worthy of your leadership.

On the side not, can you go truck shopping with me so I don't mess that up also?

Do you know what an opinion is?

I am not forcing ANYTHING on ANYONE. Also, NO ONE if forcing ANYTHING on ME. It is a dialogue. Agree. Disagree. It's just the same.

The thread is being read by people trying to make a decision to buy or not. If they read something you post, and decide to buy, or something I post, and decide to steer clear, it is no skin off my teeth. If you don't like something I say...why? They are just words that you don't happen to agree with. Who cares?

Well 6275.
I totally agree with you.
I did expect my scope to work as advertised.
I was told on 14 February that in 2 weeks.............. And now we see March 20 and no change.
I can see things are moving forward but the lack of response and care from ATN bothers me so I have just emailed SCOTT country to return my scope.
It makes me wonder why people are willing to put up with faulty and not ready for market equipment but that's their prerogative. I can't do that. I also realise things go wrong with goods but this was never right from the start.
I'm now sick of waiting. I will carry on reading this forum as it's amusing and also helpful.
Thanks guys

I don't know about you, but a Russian CEO using an alias (some searches refer to him as Marc Wayne, but I suspect when he pronounces it, it comes across "Vayn") running a Russian company called "American" Technologies Network doesn't exactly reek of honest, loyal, warm fuzzy odors...to me.

So you don't want to sell the scope, just come on here and complain about it + harass others and ATN.
Normally, if you don't like a product, you get rid of it and get something else to take it's place, but I guess that would be too easy ?
You also still want to keep the scope, yet attach links about ATN's horrible history of complaints ?
I'm guessing you didn't do any research on ATN before buying the scope ?

Didn't I just give an update about the scopes latest firmware version yesterday around the campfire ?
I'll give another one Saturday, after I test it out on a new rifle.

Two points prospective buyers of ATN's X sight get from this forum, You don't like ATN and are too ignorant to sell the scope + move on.
I think my offer to buy your scope was the "Right and Responsible" thing to do.
I really don't have the money to spend right now, but if it'll put you out of the misery of ATN X sight owners who actually use their scopes, I'll bear that Responsibility.

s6275 if you have all the problems with atn that you keep harping on HIRE A FRIGGIN ATTORNEY AND SUE THEM, that is what people like you normally do is it not?

to keep coming on here and bashing them for something that you obviously hate is not only stupid it is counterproductive so ENOUGH ALREADY.
your bs I most likely the primary reason sachal has quit responding to our questions and no longer posts as often as he was, so how the hell is that doing us any good?
you hate atn, okay we get it, now grow a pair and either sell the dam scope or stfu we are tired of your harping on atn/members of thf and just whining in general.

I bought my 5-18 AFTER reading the first 12 pages or so of this thread and the 200 thread, I knew what I was getting into and am willing to wait for the fixes up to a certain point (and I am a very patient person). mine has problems but is usable and will be used, when the new firmware comes out I will load it and see what happens. I for one could care less about geotagging, compass, altitude all I want mine to do is center the reticle, zoom with a centered reticle and do video and pics for my customers.

you strike me as an immature whiner that simply comes on here to bi t ch about something and stir up any trouble you can, keep it up and at some point the mods will send you on a vacation (you would have been gone a long time ago on TFF, mods here seem to be much more lenient).

I gave you advice above, I suggest you take it and move on.

No thank you. If I am out of line on this, I suspect I'll be banned by a board admin. We'll see what happens, I guess. I suspect it would be near impossible to make a case that I have harassed anyone since being warned by the admin. Come to think of it, weren't you too?

And I am not selling you the scope.

you are bad out of line, why would a company come on here and post anything if all people are gonna do is beetch and accuse them of dishonesty? you are not helping a dam thing with your posts so enough already, we are smart enough as a group to handle our own problems if needed and do not need your input or comments. to assume that none of us know how to look up the ceo/atn board/legal options is just showing us all you want to do is complain without doing anything to alleviate your situation, sell the dam scope, wait for the perfect atn x sight to be out there then rebuy one, how simple is that?

My opinion is that we (THF members) take the classification of "forum" to a higher level, best described as a community. I've seen it for many years here in the classified section / hogs and varmints section / rifle / optics / etc... I've had the pleasure of meeting members over the years with only 1 - 2 bad apples along the way but the majority of the community appears to get it.

What is "it" ?

Texas HUNTING forum - in my opinion the main draw for the THF is the information sharing with a nexus to hunting.

Sure there are disagreements and things taken personally and misteps along the way, that is a normal function of community however in my opinion if someone shows a trend of debating every little thing AND not contributing or sharing information related to Hunting, well that to me is not a meaningful community member, sorry just isn't.

So if you need to post marriage proposals, litigious links, and attack a guy who uses an alias - I'd say go for it but do it in a separate thread as this one pertains to function/operation/testing of the scope.

Speaking of aliases, why doesn't the guy at ATN get a pass when we ourselves use aliases on forums? Heck last time I filled out a credit application it has a spot on their for alias so use of one can't be illegal, if somebody chooses to do so I don't see how it effects the operation/function of my scope?

So please if you respond, tell us about your hunting experiences, share with the community how night vision has enriched your love of sport, be a fully functioning part of this community instead of a Master Debator...

Thanks,

Ben

Amen!

We all know the scope has issues. We all know that ATN really screwed up the product release. We all know that ATN communicates horribly. For some, those issues are a deal breakers and they return the scope. For others, like myself, it works "good enough" and we would like so share information and observations to make improve every ones experience with the scope. Half of this thread is you moaning over the above issues or responses to your moaning. This helps nobody! I have no problem when someone admits defeat and says they are returning the scope for a refund, but you are beating a dead horse exclaiming the obvious over and over again. It is a distraction and it detracts from the spirit of this forum as expressed so well by Ben above.

That said, your quick lookup thread is a great idea. If you included the common fixes and workarounds for each issue then it would be even better. Maybe even worthy of a sticky!

That is all I have to say on this. Next post will be when I finish making a replacement mount for the scope - which should be inline with the spirit of this forum and this this thread.

Back to the real topic, does anyone have any info on when the new update is going to be released?

Probably are still ironing out some issues with the .234 beta. I am hoping they are getting the reticle centered in 1x zoom because my reticle is almost off screen in 1x zoom, which is where I will be doing most of my shooting.
