It would've been nice for ATN to send the test firmware to customers who actually use the scope to hunt with, like they did with the European crowd.
It's nice to know their listening to their customers, as we know all of their tips came from this forums Beta testers.

I sent sachal an email telling him I am out 3-4 nights a week with my hunters or just to go observe, could have tested the hell out of the new firmware for him but not even a response to the email. still trying to figure out what a "senior member" is too.
I am starting to lose faith in this company and the products.

That's weird. He responds pretty quick to all of my emails. Did you send any follow up emails?

Packing my bags here is a bit and heading out. When I saw the Email from ATN I thought they were responding to the two cases I opened via the online support platform. That was three or four weeks ago, no reply as of now and I don't anticipate there will ever be a reply at this point. I tried calling the help desk, forty calls or so. The only time I made it to a human I got cut off before I finished my first sentence. I figured out the technical challenge I had on my own, case 1. A week or so after I opened the cases ATN posted an online manual in PDF format so I could download it without having multiple URL's to visit as the manual, case 2.
But my faith in the X-Sight hasn't crumbled. I still believe ATN is a great outfit and all bugs will be worked out in time. I shouldn't expect a response from technical support anyway. I'm just a humble peasant.

Cheers

The tutorial the fact the sight maintains its zero and the reticule remains in the centre of the screen? Sachal you would be best employed in another role! Both of these revealing facts were already known to us. The people in the UK communicate shame you and your company don't! This time I was late? You have only just started to communicate again all be it the information was already known! What a joke!

I think so. Thanks for posting on here at all. A lot of us appreciate it. I don't blame you for running from the trolls though.

Sachal,

Has any improvements been done with the ballistic compensator on the new fireware update?

"Just wanted to make an announcement. We have fixed the reticle zoom. Now when you use the zoom, it zooms towards the center of the reticle and there is no shift in POI."

"I know most of you already know how to do this but here is a small tutorial."

That's two announcements in the last week from ATN rep on Texas Hunting Forum. Both of which we already knew about! He has just started to offer the odd bit of info again after a long silence and guess what we already had that information! The previous information he offered was incorrect! Although he did say we would get the BDC which is useless as we all know.

Its a Joke! Yes I'm real!

He owns a product you admit was shipped with mistakes. It seems, to me, that it is someone's responsibility (ATN customer service, as a wild guess) to either get him a second refund, or help reinstate his confidence in your product.

For real.

Too all the new readers out there, welcome! Make sure you make a careful choice, because here we only classify ourselves by two labels: fanboi or troll. Which will you be?

For the record (sorry to recap for those who have been paying attention), Ken owned an X-SiGHT, fussed with it for awhile, and returned it. Several weeks later, he attended a trade show in the UK, where he was told all of his concerns would be addressed in a firmware update due "in two weeks." Then it was completed internally "in two weeks." Then Scott Country was going to be done testing it "in two weeks." Then it was released to "senior members" of this board, to be released "in two weeks." Yeah...pretty sure he's "for real."

no thanks, you already made your decisions on testing and I will just wait for the new firmware, till next saturday and if not by then I will go with another company for my night vision.
I am not trying to bash ya here sachal but a couple of points I want to make,
1. when you came on and said the new firmware (234 or whatever the now version is) would be out by fri. maybe you put yourself and company in a position of delivering something then just poofed out of here with no word on why it was not released or what was up with it. this is Texas and the vast majority judge a person and their character by what they say and do, so far you are at about 50% on credibility due to just leaving us hanging.

2. when you asked for testers you did not ask for "senior members" (is this by age/post count or just what is a sr. member on here, go check me out on the Texas fishing forum if you want sr. and credibility from one of us) you asked for testers so I volunteered due to the fact that I manage a hunting acreage in north Tx. and we are now in pig/coyote mode. I am out about 3-4 nights a week with or without hunters and as I said above could have tested the hell out of my 5-18.

if you want the people on this forum (we can be a persnickity lot) to believe you and offer what assistance we can here is a suggestion, just tell us straight up what the deal is and leave out the salesmanship and customer relations bs, we respect honesty and will work with anyone that is truthful with us but bs this forum one time and it is a long old row to hoe to get back on the good side of us.

this was not posted with any animosity or anger just tellin ya how it is and how I see it, now I will sit back and wait for the next firmware till next sat. the 21st and if nothing by then well it will not matter when it comes out to me after that as I will have a refund and go another rte.

neither, it's just someone that has valid points. With my experience with atn and lack of communication on their behalf has left an awful taste in my and quite a bit of other members. I hope for your sake you do not have an issues where you scope needs to go back. I had to contact techeyes (where I bought mine from) just to get answers on what was going on with my scope. This was after 3 attempts at contacting atn. Honestly I'd love to see all of this ironed out because I have a vested interest in the product. But since I have bought the photon and in my opinion I would go with the photon hands down. Again I hope to have 2 bad [censored] scopes. Right now I only have one.

Sachal if you're reading this why I'd there absolutely no communication to customers other than occasional posts??

If the software version tested in Europe worked well, why not just let everyone download and test it, not just senior members ?
That way it could be tested in all types of climates and on different caliber weapons too.
That would be a real test.
If it doesn't work, download the 220, or 228 version again and wait for another update.
That option was one of the reasons I bought a 3x, returned it, got another 3x,tested+returned it and bought a 5X.

I've wondered that too. If what I'd describe as miracle levels of progress don't occur prior to the end of Spring, SOMEONE is giving me the money back, and that will help make a dent in the price of the N870.

So not to pour fuel on the fire, but how do those of us who are actually trying to use our 5x while waiting for the repeatedly delayed release of .234 get our sunshade? Do we need to email Sachal, or do something else?
