Near Dripping Springs, my Aunt wanted a feeder several years back.
She's old and like to sit on the porch and watch em. I had an extra
feeder and set it up about fifteen feet from the front porch. Today
I went out to set it up for summer feed times at her request. I hit
the test button, got the cover on, and walked to the car about
twenty-five feet away. It wen off, I started the car and looked to the
mirror to back out of the drive. Out of the corner of my eye I caught
movement and looked toward the feeder as a herd charged in. Turned off
the car and snapped a few pics. So within seconds of the feeder going off,
where there were no deer, there was a herd. It's kinda foggy but there's
fourteen in this pic. She has refused every request to let me take a couple
but always thanks me for taking care of the feeder.

Send some of those deer up our way. Cool thing to see.

She tells me those are her "babies" and the answer is no hunting and that won't ever change.

Thanks for the photos Dirt and for honoring her wishes.
There are plenty of deer elsewhere to hunt so if they make her smile then leave them be, well done sir!

Nice. Sounds like a lot of the neighbors feed if they are there that quick.
I've had as many as 25 deer hit my feeder at the house. I don't hunt them at the house. It would be way too easy and there's no sport in it for me. It's nice going out to work in the yard and seeing a couple of them bedded down watching me and them not feel threatened. Some leave fawns right next to the house.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

8 seconds in afternoon, 3 seconds in the morning.
I did modify the feed cone as a lot of corn was smacking the square tubing
the barrel sits upon. I used a rubber pipe coupler and a hose clamp, dropped
the electronics and motor housing down about 3". This made a huge difference
in the spread radius. A 12v system, it's close to a 50' spread so the dominant
does don't run off the other animals. They all have plenty of room to feed.
